Man, I feel sorry for Sam Humphries. This guy is one of my favorite comic writers, his series Fanboys Vs Zombies being my favorite comic series so far and of 2012, but writing Uncanny X-force after Rick Remender was a bad move. For those of you who don't know Rick Remender just finished one of the best comic series by Marvel, Uncanny X-force about a group of X-men who kill enemies that would be to powerful or dangerous for the x-men, and while Remender is now off writing the Uncanny Avengers, the marvel now! rebrand has given Sam Humphries a new series of Uncanny X-force taking place six months after the end of Issue 35. Don't get me wrong this is not a bad comic, it's pretty fun and it has Ninjas, French Thiefs, Clones,Weird drugs, a lady with six arms, a time travler and Puck(a short canadian adventurer who ruled/lived in hell). I would like to rate this based on its own merit and not against Rick Remender's run on it but you can't, not only because Rick Remender knocked it out of the park with his series but because Humphries series refrences Remender's run but has charcters and story elements based off it. As a a comic book it is really good but as a comic book taking over for one of the greatest Marvel series written in the past few years, it's nothing special. This issue is basically meet the team members, a couple of fights here and there, and then there is one page where you see the villian for the first story arc, beyond that there is not that much. I have to give it 7.5 or 8 out of 10, hopefully Humphries will be able to make the series his own in time.

The biggest problem with Uncanny X-force #1 is the characterization of Psylocke, I will not spoil every detail why, but suffice to say that the Psylocke in this issue is a completely different Psylocke from the end of Rick Remiender's run. It felt jarring and a little bit of a step backwards in terms of her character development. Also there is a scene with Fantomex that is really...odd.

The fantomex clonecest has sold this series to me

loved it

Wait, is that...Spiral?!? What the hell is she doing here???

we'll find out. the first issue still has her as a villain so have to see how she weasels her way into the team. but everyone needs dimensional teleporter that doubles as a sorceress on their team

Dude, she's a cyborg assassin that works for a psychotic TV producer in another dimension. I'm starting to sense more bullshit here.
