Why do people put up with Martin Scorsese's racism? In every film he's ever made he displays racist characters that put down every race but italian. Why? Why aren't more people up in arms about this?
Here is some links to spark the fire. They don't really answer the question but they prove that I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Man, I was hoping to get away with just a snide remark or two, but it looks like you're just another retarded failure of a human begging for the full treatment.
Were you spawned into this world when your dad fucked your sister?
It seems to me that Sol has already decided Martin Scorsese is racist, and there's nothing that anyone can say that will change his mind.
Now he's in the midst of a temper tantrum because no one agrees with him.
I think we should just stay calm, put him in his playpen, and ignore him until he runs out of steam, and then we'll have a nice talk with him after he's woken up from his naptime.
Well I can't say I agree, I think Martin is like 95% of the world and has his own little issues with people. I think every living person on this planet is racist. We all think we are better than the next, just some have the courage and guts to say what they feel. I have had bad experiences with other races and have had good ones as well. It's up to us a people to either dwell on bullshit or let it roll off. All these directors and writers that think they keep having to portray this type of behavior are just creating their own problems. There will always be some dumb fuck sitting around watching a movie a say OMG that was racist, mainly, wait for it, because THEY ARE RACIST THEMSELVES. We see what we want to see!! who really cares about scorsese, he's a hack, a one dimensional uncultured idiot, the same with Michael Bay. Tarrantino is something completely different, he is just a blatant fucking pig. Try watching a movie by him with a room full of African Americans, it's a very uncomfortable situation. Oh and to assume all gangsters are like what scorsese portrays is as equally as racist as it is stupid, you must not know any gangsters, fucking idiot. That's like saying directly well they are minorities so they have to be stupid, or as you said bastard Gangsters. I was in a gang for many years in my early years and to think that's how they operate or how they are segregated then you are just ignorant. Most gangs have nothing to do with race, you've been watching too much dateline, they segregate over where they grew up mainly regardless of color. we never used racial slurs, but would make our own slurs, if you were a crip then you were a crab, if you were a blood then you were a slob, had nothing to do with race. Mainstream media would like us to believe this, but as far as I know personally the only gangs that are racial based are the skin heads and the mexican mofia. which are little compared to all the others. That's like the cop who sit's in the jail and watches all the racial segregation inside and thinks that's how it is on the outside, it's just ignorance.
totally agree and being an italian in america (not exactly the most native of states of being in the USA) he should know better.. Making film does not excuse racism and its not as If he makes films about race and therefore can hide behind the excuse of realism. I have no respect for him and I do not believe he is a diverse filmaker... gangsters, cops, mafia... yawn... it's all done before and before and before......Also when will Hollywood learn to use it own brain (lol) rather than copying from asian film masterpieces (The Departed is based on a far more superior Asian piece of filmaking.
