Why do people put up with Martin Scorsese's racism? In every film he's ever made he displays racist characters that put down every race but italian. Why? Why aren't more people up in arms about this?
Here is some links to spark the fire. They don't really answer the question but they prove that I'm not the only one who feels this way.
I am waiting for you to provide me with proof of Scorsese going out, and basing another film's racial background or racial casting in order to draw attention to a Scorsese film. I'm waiting for you to provide proof of an actor telling Scorsese that he went overboard with his racial writing of a character. I'm waiting for you to provide proof that Scorsese purposefully filmed a movie in the hopes to cause a racial stir or debate in order to promote his next film..........
While I doubt you will find proof of Scorsese ever stooping to these lows, Spike Lee has done it REPEATEDLY.
Spike Lee has a more solid case of being classified as a racist than Scorsese does.
At the offices of a Japanese corporation, during a party, a woman, who's evidently a professional mistress, is found dead, apparently after some rough sex. A police detective, (Snipes) is called in to investigate but before getting there, he gets a call from someone who instructs him to pick up a former police Captain and expert on Japanese affairs (Connery). When they arrive there Web thinks that everything is obvious but Connor tells him that there's a lot more going on
One of the scenes is Wesley Snipes going on about how they can't call him a racist because he's black. Within seconds, the radio comes across that a complaint is filed against Snipes for being racist by a Japanese person. It's better than you think it would be, and actually it handles both White/Black as well as East/West conflicts through the whole movie, including how Japanese business and Yakuza differ in their approach to problems.
I had no time to do anything proper Guy! LOL
I have a question for anyone who cares... I had a conversation with my aunt the othe day. About the {Cleveland Show }!!! Well, we both agreed that when we saw the first ep. That we were, uhhh offended!...
