Why do people put up with Martin Scorsese's racism? In every film he's ever made he displays racist characters that put down every race but italian. Why? Why aren't more people up in arms about this?
Here is some links to spark the fire. They don't really answer the question but they prove that I'm not the only one who feels this way.
personally i'm more angry at Mel Gibson the dude made a whole anti semtic movie and disguised it as a faith building film.
I see where your comeing from though man.
Slack you are a cool guy so I wont take pleasure in correcting you, but the Passion of the Christ is not anti-Jew... If you watched the film, or read the book you would realize that the Romans killed Jesus not the Jews... The Jews betrayed Jesus but they didn't actually kill him.
Everyone seems to forget that main Character that Mel believes is the Son of God is a Jew... How can he hate Jews and love Jesus? ummm he can't...
Should he change history in an effort to be more sensitive?

Kiz Thank you for saying this. Christ was a Jew, Mary and most of his closest followers. That film was not anti semtic. That is like say Malcolm X was an anti- Black film.
what does loving jesus have to do with loving jews? are you serious? you can't even make a statement like that, whatever blood produced jesus was irrelevant to the idea that jesus was born from God. Even trying to make him seem like a jew or a normal human is just stupid. The Jews had Jesus killed whether they actually killed him or not is irrelevant, they were given the choice and made the choice for the romans. When jesus told his father to forgive them for they do not know what they do, he was referring to the romans not the jews. But it didn't matter still because even if it were thousands of jews that did it, it still doesn't speak for jews as a people. Mel is just an idiot for trying to take a story that most know and have deep thoughts about and different ideas of how things went, and try to say it's a faith building film, build who's faith? what a fucking ignorant, arrogant assumption and then to make money off it. He is just a Fucking Retard regardless.
Jesus was a Man of flesh and blood... he was Hebrew which is an old timey word for Jew...
It is obvious that you are an idiot... You talk about Mel's arrogance, and then you speak for the Son of God... telling me what he meant like you have some special insight... Mel Gibson is a genius film maker who told a story he was passionate about he was turned down by every studio in Hollywood because no one thought the film could make a profit so he bankrolled the film, and made one of the most popular movies of all time....I guess that is because he is a Retard.
First off I believe Travis Bickle was a racist for every single race not for one specific race and he was one of the only cabbies to pick up blacks if you remember. He says he picks up everyone and goes everywhere.
Martin's character in Taxi Driver was suppose to be played by someone else but they couldn't make it so he played the part.
1. Martin Scoresse is not a racist!
2. Characters in his movie are just like people in real life are (especially if they are Italian characters. They are the most racist people in the world!)
If Marty Scorsese was a racist then why the fuck would Robert DeNiro be best friends with him, considering DeNiro loves African American Women! Why would DeNiro associate himself with a racist then?!
I grew up in a church that was mostly white and there were some people there who believed interracial couples were against nature and the bible. Friendships were ok. I've had friends and family members who'd give you the shirt off there back, unless you were Gay.
I can't explain it, but I know it exists. The Jungian thing, Duality of man, maybe?
and I never said he was just racist against "African Americans".
My main point is that he makes a career of portraying racist characters and that if anyone focused that diligently on a character's personality quirk people would ask questions.
