man on the moon
we've reached the 40th anniversary of when Neil Armstrong took his first steps on the moon. Mankind has truly reached a point in its existence that showed that we could do anything, and the impossible can be made a reality.
it's sad that most people today consider space exploration as a boring novelty, with missions making headlines only if something goes horribly wrong. I know many people think that we shouldn't waste any more money on our space endeavors, which i don't have a problem with, but i think the first moon walk in 1969 should be remembered.
it's awesome that we were able to take a large, piece of crap flying vessel to get to the moon.
. . .or you may be a skeptic who thinks the moon landing was staged. that's cool. the theories are entertaining as hell.

How did they film the shots of the pod taking off from the moon. Because the shots are taken from the moons surface. Riddle me that.

Well, the fact that shots were being sent in real-time, or near-real-time, denotes they were sending TV signals to Earth the same way Earth sends TV signals in to space.
It wouldn't be very difficult to set up a camera pointing at the lunar pod, turn the camera on, get in the pod, and take off.
