I guess that brits enjoy bad singing and lame comedy :D. Or many people might be tricked into buying the DVD thinking it's more like the real musical which is still so damn popular in London.

It's possible. Honestly, I think it's a combo of the amount of money adjusted for inflation and the fact that it's time for a new "dating movie" too. I'm sure that some of our UK members would be able to explain it better than I can.
I just think it's funny. All the talk of TDK rumors, and how much it makes in DVD/Blu-ray sells, and the awards kicking in.... this piece of news hits and will probably be buried before too long.
old people and young people like to spend their money on movies that they can sing along, at least in theyr mind. i guess they are the ones who like watching it over and over
