If it's crap... We'll tell you

I know there is another Lost topic, but I want this one to be dedicated to theories we all have about the show. Spoilers are very welcome here, so if you aren't up to date on the show, you may not want to read some of these replies.

SPOILER

-After watching this last episode, I would really like to know the seating arrangement on the original flight. I have a feeling that most (if not all) the characters are sitting in different seats, they at least have different circumstances. Check it out:
Sayid is probably sitting in Kate's original seat (since he is under arrest)
Hugo is probably in Charlies seat (because he was carrying a guitar with him)
Kate is probably sitting in Claire or Sun's seat (I have a feeling Jack got her pregnant the night before)
Locke is obviously sitting in for Christian Sheppard (and will come back to life or become an island ghost)
Frank is the pilot, like he should have been the first time.
Not sure about Sun or Ben, maybe you guys could shine some light on the subject.

There will also be a couple of new members to the cast, the woman that has Sayid in custody and the guy who offered Jack his condolences at the airport. It's obvious that the wman is sitting in for the bounty hunter that had Kate in his custody.

One of the original Lost people offered Jack his condolences when he was transporting Christian's body, does anyone recall who that was?

Sorry about the long wall of text, I'll stop it there.

Yeah I think you are right that was definitely a code, but strange they used "the statue" in the code. It probably doesn't mean anything, but I did immediately thought of the four toed statue.

We did get ot see that Ben was not bullshitting about the smoke monster judging him. He probably lived because the island believes he is important in helping Locke. Strange enough though, do you remember the first time Locke saw the smoke monster, he said it was beautiful. The second time he was horrified, and Ecko (who did many bad deeds in the past) was horrified as well. Why did it show Locke something different the second time, I really don't recall if he performed any terrible acts in between the two encounters.

I think that the monster killed Ecko because, at the time it was his destiny to continue pressing the button at the hatch and when it exploded or w/e he failed. So when they met ecko was judged and he was killed. As for Locke im not sure

Also, Eko had lost his faith and was returning to his old self, apparently learning nothing from his experience on the Island. Locke was very close to losing his faith at the end of S2, but then found his way after meeting Desmond and the hatch exploding.

This show has brought us to so many places and unveiled so many stories that by the time the series ends it's going to leave it's mark in history. The ending is so grand, that Matthew Fox (one of the few folks that knows the ending) doesn't want to do another TV series after Lost is done. I'm sure that will change in time, but after working on a show as genre-defining (as well as genre-spanning) as this one, many other future series will pale in comparison.

Here's hoping we get another show comparable to Lost, BSG or The Sopranos in our lifetimes.

I hope there is another show like Lost in my lifetime
Cant wait till this Wednesday to find out, the episode is called some like it Hoth which sounds like some Egyptian place so we might find out some major info.

Speaking of Egyptian, after last episode, my thinker has been going wild with theories. I know it's a long shot, but my new on is that the Island is related to the Egyptian afterlife. Where people would go to be judged by the gods. If one is found worthy of an afterlife (their heart is lighter than a feather) by the monster, they can live forever on the island (ala Richard). Now if one is found unworthy by the smoke monster, they will be killed or permanently removed from the island (The Egyptian god would actually feed the heart to a dog I believe). I know it's a wild one, but just thought we'd get back to speculating.

Do you suppose that this could be the Lost city of Atlantis, which had the technologically advanced society thatPlato wrote about?!? If time is relative, perhaps our Losties in the end wind up in the past and help explain advanced theroies to the people of the island...
Didn't think of that Grant. It's possible.
Some Like it HOTH?!?!? What an awesome title!! I am very psyched for this!

Two fighters against a Star Destroyer?

Echo station 3T8; we have spotted Imperial walkers.
Since it's 1977, I wonder if the Dharma Initiative gets a reel of Episode IV to show at movie night. Then Hurley amazes everyone by "predicting" everything that's going to happen in the movie. That would be hilarious. If so, he should take it one step further and spoil who's Luke's real dad. This upcoming ep, though, looks like a Miles ep, so who knows what's going to happen.

It tickles me pink that they're stuck in the year that I was born. Goddamn, I'm old.

BTW, I used to think the Island was Atlantis, but after the big Egyptian reveal, I'm starting to believe less and less in that theory. Anyone know of any mystical places in Egyptian lore that the Island resembles?
Soul Bro, I was lol at your post. All of that would be amazing. Bringing it back to Star Wars to IV was excellent.

Hell if you still think it is Atlantis, I really don't think they have disproven anything. Granted Atlantis for the most part is thought to be Greek, but I really don't see it shown to not be perhaps Egyptian. In fact Roman and Egyptian cultures intermingled quite a bit, so there's no telling where Atlantis actually originated. I'm lightening up to that Atlantis theory, but will stick with my Egyptian Underworld theory for the sake of argument.
Timmy>>> I think you might be on to something, it would make sense with the whole anubis paintings and goes with my theory of the smoke monster like being the collector of souls type of entity, and even Grant's theory makes sense there is so many possibilities that the writers can go with its insane
