If it's crap... We'll tell you

This comic is incredible, there has been, what, 5 issues? and they're already making a movie! IMDB says that the movie version has Nicholas Cage in it, though.

anyway, the comic. basically, it's about real life super heroes. let me quote wikipedia here;
Dave Lizewski, an otherwise ordinary New York City high school student and the child of Greg Willer, loving single father, takes his interest in comic books as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. He assembles a suit and mask, which he wears under his normal clothing, begins exercising, and practices things like walking on roofs, sating his ambitions for a time.

marketing for the comic/movie is in my opinion amazing, they have made one scene from a comic to a youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8byYFdSBfA

anyone else here like Kick-Ass?

is this going to be made into a trade paperback? i really can't stand paying so much extra for single issues. then again i want to read it asap...

You're probably better off waiting for the trade anyways. Its not the most regularly shipping book in the world.

THERE IT IS!

A minute long introduction to Kick-Ass, enjoy.

I think Kick-Ass is wonderful fun.

When does the next issue come out?

No idea, Mark Millar got really carried away with his crappy schedules.

This is a horrible comic

Oh yeah? Mind telling us why?

It is violent for the sake of being violent and isn't smart about it. It just comes across and juvenile the dialogue is horrible and it takes way too long to come out. The first few issues were just the main character getting the crap beaten out of him, him getting healed, then getting his ass kicked again. It failed to hold my interest and the long delays didn't help.

What do you like about it, you basically just said it was awesome and never said why.

Ok, it may have some flaws, but I never saw them that big. I like this comic because it has a main character that you can relate to, it's funny, it's interesting and it's about REAL LIFE SUPERHEROES.

That's just my opinion, you don't have to like it.

Mark Millar actually sold the right to this book, before the 1st issue was even published. The whole idea was to make a movie and a comic book at the same time.

I am reading it now, and I am liking it so far. I really got into Millar during his Ultimate X-Men days. Also I really loved Superman Red Son, until the end (it was kind of cheesy and easy, but its a three parter)
