It should go without saying that when you appear in front of a judge, you act accordingly and don't be stupid.

A follow up to the teen in court.

For those of you wondering if she was going to turn into a harden criminal after our penal system is done with her, there you go.  Case gets thrown out if she cmpletes rehab.  whether she learned her lesson afterwards, time will tell.

Now, the conclusion to our story.  (Poor audio quality)

Their you go, she is taking her brush with the law in stride, unlike others, (cough Kizmania cough)

While this is probably off subject and I haven't watched the video, whenever I hear the phrase, "Throws the book at ____", I always remember playing video games with my older brother, and, particularly if it was something Multi-Player (like Halo). If someone started beating him, he'd always grab the nearest book he could find, like a textbook, a bible, something with some weight to it, and he'd throw it right at you in an attempt to get the upper hand onscreen.

Playing video games at my house was always fun.

Wow, people have either lacked in two categories: wit or respect and this girl clearly lacked in both. as for the judge, bravo for setting her straight with even another sentence :)

Right now it seems the girl is a delinquent no prior arrests or record  I don't see how charging her money she doesn't have for a crime she doesn't seem to comprehend is any kind of justice.

By the time the court system is done with her she will be a criminal for sure.

Looks like a example of how useless the court system is

Unless extorting money from people who can't afford lawyers is is considered justice.

If she had any money she would of had a lawyer speak for her and she would have been out already.

I do agree that her punishment should have been related to her crime.  Restitution in the form of community service and attending rehabilitation programs under the guidance of weekly court appearances can work well if she's willing to comply.  If she doesn't, she gets time in juvenile hall or jail.  I've worked for a social service agency and in our drug court system, the individuals don't have lawyers present.  They see the judge weekly to show how they have either complied or not complied with the judge's orders.  This seems to be the case here as another person is waiting behind her to be judged as well.  This is a typical scenario for this type of court.

She's appears to be in county lock up . She most likely has already been there over the weekend she's in the orange jumpsuit .

An abuse of administrative power in somebody like a judges position is very damaging to the person being mistreated and to the system he represents. After many years of trying to understand the purpose of the system it's pretty clear it's about money

If you have enough money you can afford a lawyer and whatever fine you need to pay .

Have even more money for political influence you can help people get elected and things like that .

Now you're on your way to doing pretty much whatever you want to do.

Granted there may be some hic-ups every now and then but pretty much nothing is off the table.

It's a game and the judge is just messing  with the weakiest people he knows he can do whatever he wants to and not fear any reprisal he's a coward who would never attempt doing that to somebody with any power to fight back legally .

Wow, a bit over the top much? In financial penalties, they can be paid off over time like court fees. She would not have to pay it all up front, but in installments over a period of years. There are laws that make sure the court cannot take more at one time thanks required to survive and get by. Sorry friend, but the little bitch had it coming.

Did the teenager dodge it?

Funny, the judge just threw the book at me, and I'm a teenager!

I hope it was a joke book. You really need to work on your comedy.

Then he said goony goo goo.

I saw the video before. The reason why she's giggling so much and touching her hair is because she's nervous. But I gotta admit she was dumb to flip off a judge.
