If it's crap ... We'll tell you
hey everyone; As all of you probably know Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been rumoured to be in Chris Nolan's next and sadly last Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. Today, the journal "Variety" said he is now officially cast, but while many of you, including Leon on the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, might have wished for him to play Robin this will not come true, as he has been cast as Alberto Falcone, son of ex-crime boss Carmine Falcone (palyed by Tom Wilkinson in Batman Begins) and never officially confirmed Holiday Killer. While I myself would never want to see Robin in Chris Nolan's definitely darker, more serious batman films I can understand why some people might have wanted him to be that character because he definitely looks like an adult version of Robin. However, I like the idea of Alberto falcone in the nexxt one, as he's both identifued with the freaks in The Long halloween and thus is both a mix of mobster and madman, which, for me, goes well with Nolan's idea of escalation. Hwever, I don't see them bringing in the Holiday Killer into a mainstream batman film. Stuff like that usually gets covered by the animated cartoons or something. Furthermore, Juno Temple has been cast as "a street-smart Gotham girl" but Wikipedia outright says she'll play Holly Robinson (but then again I don't trust Wikipedia too much :D). For me, the fact that Gordon-levitt is in this film is in itself reassuring, as he has proven himself to be a solid actor over the last few years. Juno Temple I know nothing about but we'll see how she turns out. What are your thoughts on these casting news and roles?
