People say its the scariest movie ever.
I think its just another movie like the blair witch project. I'm sure its gonna scare people that believe in this stuff (kinda like the exorcist) but thats about it. I just can't see how some moving sheets, footprints and the ouija board are scary.
but what the hell do i know? I'm scared of a damn doll.
just tell me what you think.
Those movies have something iconic to be known for , the special effects were truly amazing . While those in paranormal activity were created by a fat guy running all over the place.

Yeah, well. You know that you will never go broke betting on the stupidity of the general public.
Don't forget that these "scariest movie ever" were also the same type of people that gave us such "Scary movies" as the Saw series, the Prom Night remake, the Re-boot of Texas Chainsaw, Halloween, Nightmare, Friday..........
"Horror Movies" are always finding the "Scariest movie ever" about every 3-4 years because the "Old scary" movies fade out because you don't get scared anymore from them. Just give Paranormal about 5 yrs, then ask the question again. =)
Not the whole scariest movie ever thing, I know thats just BS.
The fact that the people who say its the scariest movie ever are the same who like saw and the remake of texas chainsaw.
I feel almost as stupid as them. You helped me see the light and for that i thank you.
That's my main problem with the public , Just because it's a hit does not make it a classic already . Sure the movie gives you a few spooks and shocks here and there BUT , does it have replay value ?? Will it scare you the second time ?? or is it just good for the first time you watch it.
By the way I won't be asking anyone about paranormal activity 5 years from now because the movie has nothing to be remenber for except for footsteps and doors closing. And how many times have you seen that on a haunted places documentary special on the Travel Channel.
I just came from the movie. I have to be honest and say that it is one of the scarier movies that I have seen in a long time. It feeds off that notion of waking up to a sound in the middle of the night. Also, I feel that the movie did not have a single itch of religion in it. Yes, they call it a demon quite early in the movie but they explain it as a dark spirit that loves to cause pain. Which I can understand that someone would not be scared if they didn't believe in a single unexplainable force in the world..Thing is when we watch a movie we suspended our own personal beliefs. I might just be rambling but I think this is definitely a movie worth watching in a theater with plenty of people.

Paranormal Activity had some scary moments (like when Katie stands by their bed for about an hour and then walks outside), but I was disappointed with it... It didn't scare me nearly as much as I thought it should have. The end scene scared the hell out've me until Katie tackled/swallowed the camera... That was corny. I really expected it to scare me like the Blair Witch Project did, but it didn't even come close; very disappointing.
For me and most of the people that I know watched it, it was the aftermath of watching the movie. Ya the movie gave me some chills but what did get me was the worry afterwards.
I know most of you have seen those ads about getting a cartoon version of yourself. Most of you are probably too smart to click on those links, but sadly, I'm not one of those people. After many disappointments, and a hardware scrubbing, I finally...
