Today's events made me notice quite a few....not so super things lately. I remember Spill being so much more fun when it had fewer members, and technically less activity... Discussions were more fun, were more intelligent, and everyone always had something interesting to say.
I blame myself in no small part thanks to the shistorms that have been going on... I haven't exactly made an effort to lift the community, but at the same time, it just...sort of feels like an exercise in futility. No on gives a shit...hence, I tend to not care so much either...
The funny thing is, I'm noticing this with not just Spill...but way too many other sites as well. I'm gonna humiliate myself with this confession: I used to be a big contributor in the Kingdom Hearts community once upon a time; before Kingdom Hearts II came out, and all that. I helped out various sites, and I noticed tighter communities, better discussions. Even those embarrassing "Kingdom Hearts theories" you all know and hate today used to be so much more....interesting!
And not just Kingdom Hearts. Metal Gear Solid, Halo, anime communities, and TV show sites... Everything is regressing. Even though we have more things before us than ever, we're regressing rather than progressing... There are like what, THREE new Kingdom Hearts games coming out. TWO huge MGS games... Fan have more things to be excited about than ever before. More things to talk about, and more interesting and not-retarded theories regarding the subject matter to discuss... Yet, they're more bored than ever. They're creating troll accounts, inviting n00bs, or just flat-out not thinking straight...
And on Spill...no matter the movie, everyone is a cynic and baseless critic. "This movie has Nick Cage, therefore it sucks!" Do I have to count the number of times I've seen shit like that? No one is really even bothering with logic or reasoning anymore...
Internet communities used to be fun. Now....it's all so...serious, or just plain stupid. Internet...what the hell has happened to you...? >_> Anyone got a coherent answer?
