INCENDIES (SPOILERS !!!!!!! DON'T OPEN IF YOU DIDN'T SEE IT)

******SPOILERS******************************************************

I saw a Spill member recommending "Incendies".

I don't know if I would recommend Incendies...

I've asked myself if the movie is good without the 2 shock reveals during the last quarter of the movie. I don't think the movie is not that strong without the reveals so I have to say that it's more shockvalue than filmmaking that is praised here.

What do you think?

Those shocks you bring up, holy hell, I was floored. Definitely the biggest WTF moment of 2011 cinema. I immediately gave it an A+

...then some time passed and I realized the film is not perfect. Along the way, there are some quick cuts to the woman's son (the torturer) and his birthmark. I found that scene of him sniping irrelevant. And the brother and sister's confronting him at the end was very underwhelming. And it would have been wiser if we never learned what the letter said. But overall, I still think it is a very solid film.

Just saw this post...let me copy-paste what I wrote on your wall my good sir!

Personally, I thought the movie had a profound emotional impact. I felt that the ending was necessary because it was all steadily leading somewhere, and I like the fact that I didn't see it coming AT ALL. Maybe I feel strongly about the movie because my parents have lived such warfare in the Middle East and watching it with them was an experience to say the least.

Also, I think the acting was superb. It isn't a perfect movie but I think it did what it needed to do and then some, and I feel like at least some of the spill crew would enjoy it :)

P.S: I always applaud a movie that has me thinking about it long after the credits roll. This one had me thinking for a solid week at least!
