Because instead of exploring the world yourself, you're now trapped with only a mere window for viewing. Unless the story was completely good independently of the game's story while trying to pick and choose things from the source material, there's no way it can achieve a quality of immersion the game can. But therein lies the problem, fanboys want certain things in the movie version of a video game or else it's not up to caliber. The studio then listens...too much. By trying to achieve the love of the fanboys, you can't make a good movie independently of the game. The studios end up pleasing no one.
Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Bring back all those wierd characters, cover up Iron Mike's tattoo and CG him a little younger, and voila!
I bet he'd be down for that. You know it'd be good.
I wouldn't mind seeing Brutal Legend on the big screen. It would be so Metal that angels with wings of steel and blue flame would battle firery demons upon its release!
Dood the story is awesome and Especially in Uncharted 2.
The story is awesome, the presentation is awesome, the set pieces is awesome and trying to paint it as a simple copy cat of Indiana Jones is stupid.
It would be the same as saying Star Trek is a copy cat of Star Wars becaus they are both set in space. Of course the words "Hurr Durr" would follow with the person smashing his head into a brick wall becaus that would be the lvl of intelligence we have to deal with her. IE you!
There i am done.
Uncharted and Uncharted 2 is awesome.....
personally, world of warcraft would suck...you can basically make up anything you know? Also but you know ratchet n clank would be a good CGI film or Jak & Daxter. But I want to see a ZELDA game into a movie....just think when people hear that opening Zelda theme...nothing but a smile on there faces!
