... I think I don't like gaming anymore...
I love games and have been playing em' since my snes and maybe this is just me not noticing it when I was younger because I didn't pay for my games or maybe this is just the industry going down the fucking tubes I don't know.
Sequel after sequel keep coming out and there's nothing to really warrant a new full priced game. Obviously i'm talking about COD but look at Assassins Creed or Halo same shit. I mean activision ran Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk into the ground with pointless sequels and those were once decent IPs. Now? DED....
Games want to implement extra pay services like COD elite... what the fuck!? Bungie did this for free on bungie.net except for the video service but elites going to be like 60$ a year. I know its not mandatory but when all the brats get their parents to buy if for them so they can have leet clans and make 360 no scoping videos on youtube activision will say fuck it enough people bought it anyway. I already pay for an xbox live subscription and honestly I don't give a shit about playing COD maps early or facebook on the dashboard or if were honest the messaging and chat system. Should a messaging and chat system cost 10$ a month? I don't think so I have a computer. Don't even say "well you pay that to play online with people (derp face)" well I shouldn't when games have their own third party servers or use P2P matchmaking.
To stick with online service I haven't been able to play online in any EA game for over 2 months. I've called customer support and gone through every trouble shooting step and still haven't been able to fix this problem. Reps have told me everything from oh were having server issues to delete your gamertag and make a new account to "It must be your ISP". Fuck you EA there's a shit ton of people on your forums and support line with the same problem as me. You fucked it up not me or my isp I can play all my other online games. On a side note fuck EA for implementing online play pass were you have to 10$ extra dollars to play online if you bought the game new. Maybe if you didn't release the same damn game year in year out people wouldn't buy the used copies of your sports games which made you want to implement this bull.
Sony just put out a EULA that lets them rape you in the ass and turn you into a human centipedevita device and you have to be cool with it. NO LAW SUITS BRO. I know a lot of game EULA's are like this but fuck. All this because their security sucked and got hacked by some jerkoffs who had nothing better to do. Linux boo hoo fuck you.
You know what else is cool? DLC already on the game disc when you buy it. You know why its there and you can't use it? Because the game devs and publishers want you to pay for it after you pay your $60 dollars and so they don't have to pay for server space to host the shit later.
I also love it when companies make the shittiest hardware accessories known to man. Set aside that i've gone through 6 xboxs at this point, If I have to buy one more wired mic i'm just going to explode with rage.
If you read all that congratulations you spent some time looking over rage thrown at a keyboard that probably makes no sense at all.... fuck.

Spoilers, it's no longer about art or creating a genuinely good game. It's all about making as much fucking money as possible. Why sell a complete game, when you can charge the consumer extra to get the shit that was originally in it anyway. The bigwigs that oversee everything don't give two shits about players, they just want to nickel and dime the industry to death.
It's sad, but true.

There are games made for cash, yes. COD is a great example. So is the raping of the Guitar Hero franchise. But there are also great games being released and developers who want to make and keep making great games. Rockstar, Bioware, Valve - companies still aiming for and making great games that sell very well. There might be an argument to be made about nickel and diming players, but to say that it's no longer about art or creating a genuinely good game is bullshit.

I do still enjoy what Valve puts out but they've kind of gotten on my bad side pushing all their other games and not even mentioning HL3 or ep 3.
Half Life put them on the map and they've left the series mid run and I think they owe their long time customers at least a hint of the development and stop making super niche games like DOTA2.

It's always been about making money, don't delude yourself.
You don't HAVE to buy the Call of Duty subscription, don't act like it's a violation of your very being.
These are all not good things. But there's still so much creativity and ingenuity coming out monthly that if this is what you're focusing on, you're a fucking idiot.

And if others follow suit with subscription plans, they'll be smart to make it optional. So it won't be a detriment in any way, it's just a possible addition.
As for current games that are great, here you go:
I'm currently playing Ghost Trick, which is one of the most creative and fun games I've had the pleasure of experiencing.
LA Noire is incredibly rewarding.
Portal 2 gives you as grade-A story while never taking you out of the game.
Bulletstorm was a perfect B-game, it's what Duke Nukem tried to be.
Dragon Age 2 was a sequel, but it completely reversed what the first game was known for, and for the better.
Deus Ex has one of the most intricate and well thought out worlds I've ever seen.
Infamous 2 so far has completely surpassed the original in almost every conceivable way.
And those are just the games that have come out so far.
In the coming months you have Rage, which is a new IP that seems to be incredibly ambitious.
Dead Island just hit, and while I've yet to play it, it seems fun and is also a new IP.
The new Aliens game actually looks scary, which is really hard to do in video games.
Mass Effect 3 is concluding a multi-game story that is almost entirely specific to each player's actions.
Lord knows when it's coming out, but the Last Guardian looks fucking incredibly and actually touching.
And that doesn't include games that while are sequels, will be really damn good, such as Arkham City, Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Bioshock Infinite, and more.
If those really don't have you excited, I don't know what to tell you.

Ghost trick? Will google.
LA Noire never thought it looked interesting.
Portal 2. Have it pretty good.
Bulltestorm. Have it. So surprised at how fun it was but the multiplayer is not fun at all to me.
Dragon Age 2. Played the first one and hated it. Heard the second was worse and avoided at all costs.
Deus Ex. Never got into hype think the world and graphics look incredibly bland and yellow. Will buy when cheap.
Infamous 2. Don't have ps3 maybe one day.
Rage. Another FPS... good graphics but another FPS...
Dead Island. Mediocre at best. People who defend it are casual gamers who just like zombies or cause its new.
ALiens Colonial Marines. Excuse me because I really do want to play this and forgot about it. However their explanation of the story looks retarded.
Mass Effect 3. LMFAO another mediocre game people like. No thanks I played kotor which was the same game with star wars so no.
Arkham city. Will buy when cheap.
Skyrim. Mentioned as my last bastion of hope.
Battlfield 3. PROBABLY CAN"T PLAY BECAUSE OF BROKEN FUCKING SERVERS. Also have already played the game and honestly they've tried to make it more like COD.
Uncharted 3. No ps3.
Bioshock Infinite. Another sequel huh? Will wait until cheap.

First one was ok second one they stripped rpg elements out of it and had a bigger focus on combat that wasn't all that fun to me. The story in the games feels just like Kotor so everything I do in it feels like i've done it before. The final boss in the second game made me lol.
