I have a PS3, why should I buy a 360?

well, it seems you already have your mind made up before you even asked the question, but you arguement is kinda flawed. ok, you don't want netflix, that's cool. That's your opinion about the interface but I still think the organization on the 360 is better but whatever and I think you have underestimated the number of exclusive on the 360. When you include the PC platform it greatly reduces the # of PS3 exclusives, so i really don't get that statement.

The PS3 is a delay ridden machine that no one is buying (Check the numbers on Kotaku). Sony has their head so far up their ass thinking they are the best they have lost the console war by releasing a machine that had great promise but very few developers are able to even tap the potential. If it didnt have blu-ray, I would have returned mine a long time ago.

Of course, I've made up my mind, but that doesn't mean I can't change it.
Besides, the point of this is to get an intelligent discourse going. Usually all I get as a response from my co-workers is "cUz PS3 sux!!!11!!1"

Also, I'm pretty sure none of the PS3 exclusive games I've listed so far are available for the PC, but I'll double check.....no, just PS3.

Also, what worthwhile exclusives does the 360 have that we haven't discussed? (serious question, because I can't think of any)

Gears of War 1 & 2, Alan Wake, Banjo 3, Splinter Cell Conviction, Halo Wars, Left 4 Dead

-Gears is available for PC, I actually have it already.
-Left 4 Dead too.
-Splinter Cell is not out yet, but will be out for PC (and I'll probably get it).
-Halo Wars will probably come out for the PC (but I probably won't get it...not a big RTS person. Honestly not a big HALO person in general...I have them, but I'm not a huge fan).
-Banjo 3...not my cup of tea, but I'll give ya that one.
-Alan Wake? I haven't heard of that...I'll have to get back to you on that one...just checked, PC.

....so...yeah, so far we have Fable2, Banjo 3, and maybe (but probably not) Halo Wars as true exclusives...none of which I'm interested in.

Well, I have an Xbox 360, and I definitely feel like my purchase is justified. I have NEVER had any problems with it, and I really hate it when people make the argument that something MIGHT happen, when there's a large margin of people who haven't had it happen.

But anyway, the only reason why I can think of buying a PS3 is for a Blu-Ray player. I mean, I would enjoy just having it in case a good exclusive comes out, though if a game comes out for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, I would probably just get it for the 360 because I'm an achievement hunter.

Also, the 360's online is like, what? 5 bucks a month? I really don't know anyone with a 360 who doesn't have online because of the price, so I can't see why that would come in as a factor. Plus, the price keeps out the mindless spammers or clones who just make accounts so they can either hack or say whatever they feel like online (whether it be EXTREMELY offensive or directly annoying the shit out of a specific player).

Here's the thing though, my roots are in the Xbox. I've spent LOADS of cash on themes, gamer pictures, gamertag changes, XBLA games, and videos, and all of those are non-refundable. If I were to buy a PS3, I wouldn't have any reason not to just leave it in the corner, gathering dust. And, to be honest with you, I feel like if I were to have bought a PS3 first, I would have the same argument against the 360.

So, in short, just keep your PS3. If you like it, good for you. Have fun playing your exclusives and if a game comes out for the 360 that you really want, and you feel that that game and other exclusives are enough for you to want to buy a 360, than get one. Honestly, there is no other reason for you to get a 360, no matter what any one else says...except for maybe online, though you probably don't feel like that is enough.

Exactly, as far as I can tell, you get basically the same experience with either system...especially if you also have a PC.
Since I have a PC, an HDTV, and piles of PS1&2 games; the PS3 was a no-brainer for me.
If I had a shitty PC, or a regular TV, or didn't care about the many classic games that I already have, a 360 might have appealed to me.

However, I would have probably regretted it when MGS4, Killzone 2, and God of War 3 came out.
Also, I would have missed out on great experiences like Resistance 1&2 and Little Big Planet.

Also, free online is nice. If I get the same results (which I do); paying $0/yr is always preferable to paying $60/yr.

You may have to deal with firmware hick ups but Sony is getting better with that. But that is beside the point. With less and less exclusives coming out these days that can not be a factor. Since an Xbox 360 is like a semi stripped down (control wise) gaming PC and the fact you pump enough money into your PC to play such games, you have already covered most of the exclusives. Your not a Halo person, another problem removed. Banjo 3, totally different game, yet another problem removed. Fable 2, like Fable one will probably be released on PC (with added content). A FPS where you fight aliens, with a enemy rush online mode: you got that covered with Resistance 2...I could keep going but you get the picture.

As long as developers seek more markets for their games, (which they do) and your PC is upgraded (which I can't understand but that is your call) then there is no need for a 360. To tell you the truth I will probably be getting a PS3, as a cheap Blu Ray player that can play such games as LBP, MGS4, White Knight Chronicles, Valkyra Chronicles, FFXIII Versus and the inevitable KH3.

If you don't want to get both, stick to your set up. With the way things are going you will not be missing out on much at all.

yes other games have Matchmaking, Browsing and every thing else you normally would find on a PC.

At least the games i play Online have it. (Warhawk, Without HD and Resistance 2.)

It depends on what your friends are playing. Are they mostly playing the 360? If yes, then buy it.

I love Gears of War :D

Xbox 360 though is dedicated to you. It's always giving me these red rings from time to time, I think it's a sweet gift. I'd actually make love to my 360 if it didn't die after purposing.

Why dont you get an elite, you wont get red ring that way. As you know there are alot of exclusives like Gears 2, Halo3, Halo Wars, Fable 2, Halo 3 Recon, Crackdown, Forza 2, Ninja Gaiden 2 and PGR3/4, XBL is great, the 360 controller is alot better suited to FPS in my opinion, 3rd party games are often better on 360 and DLC is alot more prominant on 360. All in all you cant go far wrong with 360, if u only have a ps3/pc your missing out on alot, thats the same reason im gettin a ps3 for christmas.
