If it's crap... We'll tell you

Everyone keeps telling me to buy a 360, but I just don't see a reason to.
I get all the same games except for the Halo and Gears of War games; both of which I can (and did) get for my PC.
I have a HDTV, Blu-Ray rules.
Playstation Online is FREE, and just as good as XBL now thanks to the 2.40 update from a while ago.
I get great exclusive games like MGS4, Resistance 1&2, Little Big Planet, Uncharted, and soon Killzone 2 and God of War 3.
I have the 60g version so I have complete backwards compatibility with all my old PS1&2 games.
Plus, I never have to deal with system failure (no Red Ring of Death for me).

In short, no-one has ever given me a compelling reason why I should now buy (or even should have bought) an Xbox 360.

Can you convince me, or can we just put this thing to rest?
By the way I reserve the right to shoot down your argument, but don't get mad, just come up with something better ;)
Good Luck.

Personally, if you can afford both, two out of three systems are not a bad thing to own.

I own a Wii and a 360, both are excellent systems and I use them both equally. The reason I would buy at least two systems is the inevitable envy you will have for the other systems.

Let me explain. Way back in the days of Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox, I was a Nintendo zealot. I got a Gamecube and for a while I was satisfied with Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion and Metroid Prime. Then I I started seeing commercials for games like Kingdom Hearts, God of War, Shadow of the Collosus and others and I found myself longing for a PS2. Of course, I was a little kid back then with no steady income and my parents would never get me another system for my birthday/holidays because they'd think they were spoiling me.

Anyways, the point is, I was stuck watching game after game after game come out for systems I didnt own. Now, I own two systems, this really doesnt happen much anymore. All I know is that chances are that one system's quality of games will decline. When that does, you dont want to be stuck with the declining system like I was.

Look, if you dont feel like you will get much use out of a 360, fine. All I'm saying is that owning two or three systems will not hurt you if you truly love video games. You will be able to play a wider array of games and you will probably get just as much use out of both in the long run.

PS: Bioshock is another good reason to get a 360.

Actually, your argument of "because the PS3 might eventually suck" is actually the first decent, informed argument I've ever heard on the subject. Bravo :)
Although this really just means that I might eventually want a 360; there's just no reason to get one yet.
Plus, I do have a Wii, and at this point I never play the damn thing; I've basically given the thing away to my little brothers

I have Bioshock for the PS3 already.

Hahahaha! I completely forgot they released that for the PS3.

Yeah, I will probably want a PS3 soon anyway because of God of War 3 anyway.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion are also good games for the 360. I have no clue if either are on the PS3 or the PC, but I'm making shots in the dark.

I like Fable 2, but I'm a sucker for Molyneux and I realize a lot of people arent.

yeah, both Fallout 3 and Oblivion are available for PS3, and I think that I could get Fable 2 for the PC, but I'm not really interested in that game anyway

I'm with you on this one. I don't think you have any reason to buy a 360, much like I don't feel I need a PS3 at the moment. The only thing I regret not having is MGS4 but that alone won't sell me. FFXIII was the big one for me and that's headed to the 360 now. I'm actually happy that ppl like us have no reason to spend so much friggin' $ on systems, seeing as the majority of good games are multiplatform.

Stick with your PS3 and ignore the calls to buy a 360 till you find a damn good reason to.

That's what I keep telling everyone; the PS3 is better suited to my specific needs, so I have no reason to switch.
But my Co-workers just won't leave me alone about it.
They keep saying "Gears! Halo!" and I keep responding "I have them already for the PC."

Also, I've noticed that there dramatically fewer childish assholes on the PSN than on XBL (which seems to be a breeding ground for13-year-old white kids who think it's funny to be dicks and to use the N-word several times in every sentence).

I wouldn't say that's XBL exclusive. That's just the general gaming public at work. Maybe less of it on PS3 due to the lack of an included headset/mic and other various reasons (price tag, smaller player base). Just browse through any popular gaming forum and you'll realize these bastards are everywhere. That's anonymity for you.

Luckily, there's a mute button for me to use everytime I run into these shits. There are days where I think it would be easier to have everyone muted and I choose to allow who I hear, instead of the other way around. ;)

PS3 gas achievements now, they're called trophies.

Achievements are SO rewarding to get though. I have about 15000 gamerscore, and you can bet that I constantly brag to my friends about it.

When I play a game now, I look at it completely different. Every one is like a plump orange, ready to be juiced until I have all of the gamerscore I can possibly get out of it. And when I look at a glass full of achievements, I feel like I just spent the last 5 days of my life on something worth while, instead of wasting my time on video games.

But the PS3 HAS achievments! We just call them something different, lol.

I own both and after I finished MGS4, my PS3 is used for Blu-Ray. I have played resistance and what separates it from other shooters? I don't get all the hype about it. I hate the live feature and there is not killer titles that I want. I think you should get a 360 for a variety of reasons:

1) Xbox Live is absolutely amazing and if you have a netflix account you can watch movies instantly(Even in HD). I'm sorry but as soon as you experience live, you will change your tune on the PS3's live functionality.
2) The new xbox experience is really cool and the 360 interface is much better than the PS3's
3) Sooooo many killer apps: Fable 2, Halo 3, Gears of War, Ninja Gaiden and many others.

I should probably mention that, because so many people I know have 360s, I've played the console quite a bit; even though I don't have one.

1. I don't have/want/need a Netflix account.
2. I've used the 360 live interface, and to be honest, it's doesn't offer anything that I can't do with my PS3 anymore. It used to, but not anymore.
3. Again, I have most of those "killer apps" for my PC. Ninja Gaiden 2 will come out for PS3 (NG1 already did, and I have it), and I might get it when it does, but honestly, I'm not excited about it.
And sure Fable is a 360 exclusive, but it's not my kinda game anyway.

I find that 360 owners seem to vastly over-estimate the number of exclusives they get. If you include the PC as a competing platform (and you should) Fable 2 is the only game I can think of that is truely exclusive to the 360.
...except for Too Human, which sucked giant donkey balls anyway.
