I hate the word "Fuck"...
Not that I have anything against the word inparticular nor do I promote censorship over words, but it's just that "Fuck" has been a crutch for conversations now a days. It seems like in earlier generations, the word "Fuck" would only be used during moments of extreme agitation. These days it seems like fuck is every other adjective in a sentence diminishing the meaning of the word. An example of not using "Fuck" at a good point in time: "Wow, grandma, these cookies are fucking delicious."
Also the duel meanings of the word "Fuck" is something strange and disturbing. As a culture, we've associated "Fuck" with both agitation and having physical relations, or sex. The negative violent connotation that the word "Fuck" implies soils the intimacy of love making. In a recent video game, "Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned", a character says that he has slept with the main characters female friend, and now he is going to kill him, however, in the game this meaning of his words are minced due to the reliance of the word "Fuck": "I fucked Ashley, and now I'm going to fuck you." A cringe worthy moment that made me wonder what the writer was thinking when contemplating this scene.
What are your thoughts on the subject, if any?

I really don't have any feelings towards the word Fuck, nor do I feel it disturbing at all. The fact is, using the word Fuck as an adjective is pretty much a normal thing most people do now. Hell, even I use the term because it feels so natural to do so. So what was the GTA writer thinking when he wrote that sentence, that that's how people talked. Which is true.
In fact, I'd find it more disturbing if a GTA game or some Rated R comedy didn't have someone dropping the F bomb in their sentences.

That's another thing that bothered me from C.H.'s post. What is he basing that statement from? While I'm sure, cursing and using the word Fuck wasn't as prevalent then as it is now, I'm damn sure that there were a group of people who used the word as much as we do now back then.

Are you sure that you don't like the word fuck? If the word fuck didn't exist then you wouldn't be able to talk about it...

Growing up in Denmark, I've never had a big problem with swearing, and from what I can tell we use the word more loosely than in US. It help as far as emphasis goes, but yeah, it can get used excessively just for the sake of it:

there is nothing wrong with swearing, it is the inflection behind the word which makes it bad or good, i am from england and i say cunt at least 10 times a day on average, when meeting my friends, when talking about other people or just hanging out debating cheese preferences.
however in certain social situations it is not a good idea, if i was at a family meal i wouldn't say pass the fucking potatoes,
but i never got why people get so offended by certain word its just a fucking word.

It seems like the word fuck nowadays is used almost like the word "smurf" to Smurfs. For example as you said, "I fucked Ashley and now I am going to fuck you". A Smurf would instead say, "I smurfed Ashley, and now I'm going to smurf you." What am I trying to say with this? Nothing, I just try to blame most of society's problems on 80's children shows.
