How Stupid Can A Movie Be Before You Can't Enjoy The Movie Anymore.

How Stupid Can A Movie Be Before You Can't Enjoy The Movie Anymore.

If it is a drama, romance, sci-fi I have a low tolerance. If it is an comedy, action, horror I have a very high tolerance.

Are you talking about that movie with Nicholas Cage? LOL the movie was almost a comedy.

I actually kind of enjoyed it too, I never saw it in a theater though.

stupid fart joke's, a conflict that can be solved like that (snap's fanger's), jumping the shark to much annnnnd alot more...

Uwe Boll bad

Ugh, that's a tough one to answer. I guess it can depend on two things....

1) If the movie itself is trying to be a "serious movie". Something like Ghosts of Mars. Sure it's a dumb movie, an over the top action flick that just doesn't make any goddamn sense. But because the movie is trying to be a "serious" film (In other words the cast/crew are really trying their best to do a good job) I can forgive the stupidity and enjoy it.  If the movie is overly "cheap" looking. Something like Sharktopus (or other "Sy-fy" movies). Those just get NO tolerance from me because they aren't even putting an effort into making the movie to begin with.

2) If I see it (for the first time) at just the right moment to make fun of a movie BECAUSE it's stupid/bad. I still find a lot of enjoyment from some really stupid shit because the first time I saw it, I was drunk ... had a bunch of friends that started to make fun of the movie... on a date where the movie was more "background noise" while making out or talking and getting to know each other... Or just one of those rare times where you just say "fuck it" and put something on just TO laugh at it. One of my guilty pleasures is still Johnny Mnemonic . It's bad, the acting is bad, the characters are laughable, the dialog is a joke, the technology is interesting but also outdated... and yet, because the first time that I saw it was with a bunch of friends making fun of it, I still love it.

It really depends on the movie. But my general rule is that it has to get so stupid that it breaks the rules established by the movie.

First Class was ridiculously stupid and full of plot holes. But i was able to enjoy it even though i pointed it out.

However District 9 was a smart, tight movie.....and the stupid ending ruined it for me.
