Well, out of all people, Kanye West has made it happen with his short film, Cruel Summer shown at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival inside of a tent with 7 screens. It was given colossal praise but we will never see it. How many theaters have 7 screens? One and that's Kanye's in his mansion. He said this could be a new era when the death of pulling out your smartphone in the middle of a movie comes true because so many things are going on. What do you all think of this idea and the fact that it will eventually happen...and we'll have to thank West for it?

I would check it out just to say i did it. If this is the future of film watching (for the better unlike 3D) i have no problem thanking Kanye West for it.

Or one of those dome screens or 360 screens one sees in amusement and theme parks. I'd love to see something like that start up. I just pity the Pan&Scan technician trying to adapt that set up for home video. With the setup in the photo, I love the addition of the bottom and top views. Imagine Mission Impossible Protocol's skycraper scene with that.
Permalink Reply by Chris Winters on January 15, 2013 at 9:36pm I think it'll be the next level of home entertainment setups. Just like packs today with the DVD, Blu-ray and 3D, if you don't have 7 Screen XP (7XP), you just won't see it's features.

Permalink Reply by Chris Winters on January 16, 2013 at 5:01pm lol Good one. But just like every film isn't in 3D, it doesn't have to be in 7XP. If you're going to use it, use it right.
