Tobe Hooper, the director behind "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" will helm Imagenation Abu Dhabi's Arabian horror film "Djinn." This unique new take on the haunted house thriller uncovers the dark truth behind classic fairytales of the Genie. "Djinn" tells the nightmarish story of a young Emirati couple who return home from the U.S. and discover that their new apartment in a luxury high-rise built on the site of an abandoned fishing village is also home to the malevolent beings known as Djinn.

Hmm. Kinda' wish they didn't show so much in the trailer. I got too much of a hint as to what the main plot points are going to be with this film. It looks as though they're taking the human route for the Djinn design. A pity. I wanted to see some artists throw out some special effects and practical makeup to pull off a proper Djinn, as they are interesting creatures of lore. At least the Djinn woman looked gorgeous.

Unless it's about them twisting people's words, I'm not interested.
