Homefront was a first person shooter released by THQ in 2011. This game had quite a big buzz, and despite an interesting and compelling storyline the game dissapointed people with the lack of a campaign, bad graphics, and a few other things.

Before THQ went under, they were already brainstorming ideas for a sequel to Homefront, but had to sell the rights to Crytek, before they could go through with it.

Crytek headquarters are located in the UK, and that's one of the reasons they bought the rights to the new Homefront. It takes place in England.

Now with the rights in the hands of the same people that made the visually groundbreaking Crysis series, there's already expectations that the new Homefront won't dissapoint.

If Crytek does it right, Homefront 2 can give the Battlefields amd Call of Duty's a run for their money.

Homefront 2 is set to be released within the next two years. Stay tuned.

Call of Duty and the Battlefield series cater to a different audience when it comes to online gameplay. With the vehicles and massive maps in BF and the close tight spaces and I guess faster pace on the COD multiplayer. And the Crysis multiplayer was pretty boring for the time that I played it.

Homefront 2 probably will be great on the graphics department with the new crytek tech and such but as long as the story is garbage... like the first one, then it's not going anywhere.
