MaxJayJay posted a discussionHey guys, I recently rediscovered my love of the 4X Strategy genre, but have long been out of the loop (About 8 years). I love games like Imperium Galactica, Hegemone, Masters of Orion, etc etc. However, I'm looking for a new one. Hopefully with some kind of story, if I can get one.
Any and all suggestions are welcome, and much appreciated.

However, I suppose I may look into it.
Permalink Reply by Joong on January 10, 2013 at 11:33pm If you're already somewhat familiar with Space Sims, you might wanna start with Nexus: The Jupiter Incident or Homeworld 2. I would recommend the latter more because of it's gorgeous art design, engine and overall visuals.
All of the screens are in-game:
Yes, what you're seeing above is a game released in 2003. If you're looking for something more new though, you could try X3: Terran Conflict.

Nexus Jupiter Incident is indeed fun, if the voice acting is atrocious.
However, I'm not sure either of those are 4X. They are indeed strategy, but 4X is more like... Age of Empires, or the aforementioned.
