yes i understand that perhaps for some, a white guy playing goku was a let down. Look i think the character could have been done better. It is just ridiculous to assume that he is white because he is saiyan, just ridiculous to say he is asian because of the authors inspiration, and even more ridiculous when a fan say he is neither he is saiyan.

You are making a movie based on DB, where in the real world are you going to find a Saiyan to play the Saiyan???
My point is their many options available for the producers to consider for the cast of Goku. And far many ethnicity besides asian or Caucasian to search from. How about a mixture?? eastern europeans tend to have mix asian and european blood, latin countries boast many people who have both traits, black and blond hairs. Even mixture of asian and western blood have can deliver more believable physical characteristics to Goku.

The fact it is all about the money period. Casting a white boy gains more empathy and attraction as a hero to a wider audience thus earning more money for the studio. The fact that they may ruin a priceless icon for many DB fans does not cross their mind, and would not care, as long it makes them money.

What annoys me is that it has one of the poorest script ever concocted. Monetary budgets should not affect a person from writing a true imaginative storyline. Many movies have gained high status ie Napoleon Dynamite because of good written story, despite having a low budget.

Fight scenes are atrocious as well, i watched Ip Man, recently and the fight scenes there is more intense. Couldn't they hire a decent fight choreographer?

Cg graphics are lame as well, im a big sci fan watched tv series like star trek and stargate sg1 and the cgi there is much better, and its television!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like when i saw one of the earth ship in stargate sg1 shoot a laser beam, it look more kamehameha than the film. so please don't tell me they couldn't have done that better.

And don't give me the crap it was meant for kiddies, if they wanted to make a movie for the kiddies, then adapt pokemon to live motion movie. DB is action humour and earth shattering fights.

I havn't seen the movie yet,but im not excited.As for the whole race thing,I aggree with AcE!,unless race is important to the story,it doesn't matter.Think of Nick Fury.They made him black,and he's exactly the same.In fact they used him in a few movie's.So ,unless race is important to the story,Race doesn't matter.

Except Nick Fury isn't exactly a headlining character. In fact, he's been more of a "universe character"(aka playing supporting roles in the fictional universe of Marvel) for years now, in both 616 Marvel Universe and Ultimate Marvel Universe. He does not have his own book technically, and he's not a character in the public concious.

Now, if Spiderman was black, or Tony Stark...would race matter then?

not to me,but I see your point.You have a right to your opionion.There's been a lot of fighting,but I think we can all aggree on one thing:dragon ball evolution sucked.It sucked eggs.I wish the angry video game nerd heard about it so he could rip it apart in one of his review's(this is horse ----!!!!).lol.
It's good that you stick to your opionion btw.Now I just hope they don't mess up that live action ghost in shell movie that's susposed to come out,lol.

Depends of the right race is portrayed in Ghost In The Shell. Seriously, Motoki Kusangi(her last name is based on Japanese mythology of the Grasscutter Sword, for goodness sake) is Japanese, so if we have Lindsay Lohan being played by her, its DB:E all over again.

DB:E sucked balls, but one of the major reasons was credibility. A white boy as Goku? Would you take an Asian thespian playing Spiderman? It's the exact same thing.

well im not sure about race,but I'll meet you half way.I bet if they had filmed it in japan,it would have had a better shot at being good.Oh,and about the ghost in shell movie,im not sure,but I think steven speilberg is directing it.Or at least produceing it.Here's hoping 20th century fox doesn't get it,lol.

DBE felt like they took everything from DB, left out everything good, and shoved it all into a box, which exploded and they lost most of the story, but the dead line was right around the corner, so they just ignored the rest of the plot and gave it to Fox.

Run-on sentences rule.
