If it's crap ... We'll tell you

King of the Koopas posted a statusI was flipping through channels last night and came across some entertainment news panel where one commentator said such and such was a very brave performance and I have a new respect for her. Another panellist chimed in to comment that she thought the industry would take her more seriously now that she’s done a nude scene. I didn’t stick around for the rest of the programme so I’m not sure who the actress was, but it got me thinking.
I’m obviously not in the movie industry so I wouldn’t know the behind the scenes machinations as far as someone getting or not getting roles because they’ve decided against nudity, nor what level of respect either choice would garner from peers. I’ve never really heard anyone explain how nudity helped them in the business but I have read that some actresses say certain explicit scenes had a harmful affect on their career. Then you hear murmurs like Halle Berry would never have even been considered for an Oscar without having done nudity. Could that really be the case?
From a viewer’s perspective, does an actor’s choice to do nudity affect your opinion of them as an artist? Do you think anyone’s career really benefitted from nudity?

Permalink Reply by south-side panda on July 31, 2012 at 6:45pm No i don't change my opinion on any actor when they go nude in a film. If they feel like being nude will help with a role sure why not. Many actor's have minds of there own and can do whatever they want to do because they are grown as people. And maybe many actor's believe in the old saying "Sex Sells".
