Four new films debut in the top 10!

After a limited release, Gran Torino jumps 13 spots all the way to #1 at the box office with $29 million over the weekend. The film has now taken in a total of $40 million. The movie had the highest per theater average of any in the top ten with $10,337 per theater and a budget of $33 million.

Bride Wars debuted #2 at the box office with $21.5 million. The film had a $30 million budget.

The Unborn debuted #3 at the box office with $21 million. The film had a very high per theater average of $8,950.

Marley and Me fell three spaces to #4 at the box office with $11.3 million over the weekend. The film now has a total gross of $123.7 million.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button fell two spots to #5 spot at the box office, earning $19.4 million over the weekend and $94.3 million since opening. The film had a budget of $150 million.

Bedtime Stories fell four spots to #6 at the box office, earning $8.5 million over the weekend to raise its three week total to $97 million. The film had a budget of $80 million.

Valkyrie fell three spots to #7 at the box office, earning $6.6 million over the weekend and $71.5 million since opening. The film had a budget of $75 million.

Yes Man fell three spots to #8, earning $6.1 million to bring its total gross to $89.4 million in four weeks. The film had a budget of $70 million.

Not So Easily Broken debuted #9 at the box office, bringing in $5.6 million. The film had a budget of $5 million.

Seven Pounds fell four spots to #10 this week, earning $3.9 million. The film has now made $66.8 million, and had a budget of $55 million.

For those interested, The Wrestler earned $874,000, raising its four-week total to $2,848,000. The film was shown in 60 theaters, for an average of $14,567 per theater.

Was it that about ? oh yeah back when Spike criticized Eastwood for the film Flags Of Our Fathers . But look at Eastwood now , he's still making great movies .

I honestly believe this was due to Clint Eastwood going door to door and just growling at people until they agreed to see his movie.

But in all seriousness, I'm not surprised at all. Gran Torino was the one movie that people would see.

It has Clint Eastwood, a well known actor, was marketed as (from what I've seen), an action/drama movie, and promises of Clint telling young'ns to get off of his property.

Who wouldn't want to see it?

Same here. I was quite surprised by the turn out. I saw the long-ass line & figured it was a bunch of idiots flocking to see The Unborn & Bride Wars. XP But, I was pleasantly taken aback by the volume of patrons
in the auditorium for Gran Torino.

Glad to hear this movie did so well..I loved it defintly already at my top 10 fav movie even though i saw it in december so idk would it be 2008 for me?..lol
