Halo 3 was a MAJOR LETDOWN for one it was hyped sooo gawddamn much, I mean a Halo edition Mountain Dew, gimme a break. Not only that but it was quickly forgotten the next month when CoD4 came out which was not hyped much and word of mouth about that game spread like wildfire.

well not to say it didnt but I dont remember buying a CoD 4 Slurpee, or midnight releases with tons of people lined up to pick it up.

I really don't know why people hated Halo 3....It's exactly like Halo 2 which was awesome. The only difference is the weapons are cooler, and the levels are bigger. Sometimes people just expect too much from game makers...If they would have made drastic changes people would be bitchin about how they didn't stay true to their roots, and since they didn't make drastic changes people are bitchin that its the same old game...

Well it's not that i hated it but I was letdown, because your right it is exactly like Halo 2, which is okay I guess but I guess given the hype I was expecting more than Halo 2.5 but either way it served it's purpose..

But I mean seriously they turned master chief into a goddamn billboard!

yeah but Halo's story always blew ass...the only reason halo has ever been any fun is online Multiplayer.
