I am interested to see what he decides to do next. I know Much Ado About Nothing and a Dr. Horrible's sequel are on the horizon. But after that.
Do you think he'll do Avengers 2? Disney would be stupid to not at least have him involved, but I've seen a lot of interviews where he seems exhausted by the whole process. God I hope he makes a billion more things. I need more Whedon shows.

Maybe if Serenity has been a better commercial success.
Sadly, there are no Fox finger prints on that one, it failed to make it's budget all on it's own.

As much as I'd love to see it happen, I've become resigned to the fact that it wont. Each year that part of my soul dies a little bit more. The cast is getting older and doing different projects. Plus I'm pretty sure Fox is fine with letting it die.

Except that Firefly doesn't NEED to come back. You had season 1, which established the characters and Serenity which basically finished telling the main story. So why would you want it to "come back" now that it's been told?

I just love the 'verse and I think there is still a lot they could explore. Plus I think Serenity does a good job of not resolving EVERYTHING. Plus personally I'd love to see Jubal Early again.

The long and short is...no one is interested in coming back to make another season. The series failed to catchmfire til way too late, the studio screwed up the release, the movie failed to make budget and it has been a few too many years to just bring everyone back.
My suggestion Valerie? Go get a few fellow fans and buy the Serenity RPG. Then you can create all the stories you want.
