With the show steadily going downhill, it's refreshing to look back to the glory days of everyones favourite animated show and see why it stuck around for 20 seasons. In my opinion seasons 5-8 were the best and my personal favourite episode is the season 6 episode "Lemon of Troy" (the one where the kids go into shelbyville to get the lemon tree back) it was just so quotable and hilarious.
Homer vs. the Eighteenth Amendment.
I actually spent 10 years of my life believing that the sheriff, Rex banner was voiced by Kevin Costner coz of the similarity with the Untouchables.
Really disappointed to find out the truth.
I like all the music episodes. Y'know, the ones where everyone just bursts into song and everyone just goes with it. However, my all time favorite one has got to be "I Love Lisa." The episode where Ralph falls in love with Lisa after Lisa gives him a pity Valentine's Day card. Never again has the usage of Boris Pickett tugged at my heart strings so.
that episode is hilarious. the hammock store bit in it cracks me up every time.
Hank Scorpio: Uh, hi, Homer. What can I do for you?
Homer: Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks.
Hank Scorpio: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks! Homer, there's four places. There's the Hammock Hut, that's on third.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Hank Scorpio: There's Hammocks-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There.
Homer: Mm-Hmm.
Hank Scorpio: That's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the hammock complex on third.
Homer: Oh, the hammock district!
Hank Scorpio: That's right.
Favorite episode is the camping episode. I still laugh just thinking of when Homer tried to trap the rabbit and ended up sending it flying across the forest.
