If it's crap... We'll tell you

Live long and prosper, bitches.....

I don't really like using the phrase "escapist fun" but if there ever was a movie that that applied to, it would be Star Trek. There were plenty of movies that ive seen this year that have gotten more of a emotional reaction out of me and that were more compelling or just plain better than Star Trek but I don't think I've ever had such a good time at the theater. I will actually come out and say this is the Star Wars of this generation. Now before you get all fanboy on me, take a look at both the films. They are basically the exact same story (there's a comparison online somewhere, you should look it up) just with a different skin, and i bet some kids out there had the exact same reaction to it as some of you guys had when Star Wars first debuted. But I digress. Star Trek was all the things I look for in a movie--great underdog story, swashbuckling action, a little bit of drama-- all rolled into one absolutely fantastic package....

Honorable Mention: Drag Me to Hell, Watchmen, Up

It was.

It's worth seeing, but don't expect a masterpiece. It never engaged me very deeply, but Proyas did a good job despite the blandish script. I don't understand what the fuss was all about.

It was shit, thats what the fuss is all about.

Man! thank you! i avoided watching Knowing for the longest becuz of the Spill Crew's review since i usually share the same views as them on pretty much every movie but i watched it this weekend and i really loved it. I always like movies that stick with you after the end. of course it had its flaws but i think the good outweighs the bad in this case.

5. Star Trek - What can I say that hasn't been said?
4. Watchmen - I think that overtime this movie might become more appreciated. Just my opinion!*
3. Up - BEST PIXAR MOVIE SINCE MONSTER'S INC.!
2. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Like Watchmen, it's really under appreciated. It's tied for my favorite of the franchise with Prisoner Of Azkaban!
1. District 9 - I can't really say much more than what has been said! This movie is an instant sci-fi classic from beginning to end!

As of right now its UP that movie had so much. I mean my buddies all went to see it (we're all military) and we all thought it was truly a good movie. Star Trek is a close second. Avatar could change all of it. Oh James Cameron please don't pull a Watchmen on original material.

Agreed. its rare that i get so moved by a film especially when there are no real humans in it haha. SO...one of the Watchmen haters huh?

All i can say is i'm happy i got to the book before the movie.

well I of course agree that the book is better. its just so rich in detail and depth, but i do believe Zack Snyder did the best job possible with such a tricky property.
