If it's crap... We'll tell you

Live long and prosper, bitches.....

I don't really like using the phrase "escapist fun" but if there ever was a movie that that applied to, it would be Star Trek. There were plenty of movies that ive seen this year that have gotten more of a emotional reaction out of me and that were more compelling or just plain better than Star Trek but I don't think I've ever had such a good time at the theater. I will actually come out and say this is the Star Wars of this generation. Now before you get all fanboy on me, take a look at both the films. They are basically the exact same story (there's a comparison online somewhere, you should look it up) just with a different skin, and i bet some kids out there had the exact same reaction to it as some of you guys had when Star Wars first debuted. But I digress. Star Trek was all the things I look for in a movie--great underdog story, swashbuckling action, a little bit of drama-- all rolled into one absolutely fantastic package....

Honorable Mention: Drag Me to Hell, Watchmen, Up

Star Trek, District 9 and Moon.

I'm seeing Up appearing on so many lists. It looks like typically impressive Pixar, I can't wait to see it. Maybe it'll also appear on my list in a couple of weeks.

Watchmen- I admit, I didn't care for 300, but I was pretty impressed with this one.
Star Trek- This is my first Stark Trek film I ever saw, and I really enjoy it.
Up- Not my favorite Pixar film, but I enjoyed it anyway.
District 9- So far, the best one I've seen this year.
Inglorious Basterds- While many people said that they find the dialogue boring, I found it very engaging and interesting. I loved it.
