I have been a huge doctor who fan for almost a year. I have watched every episode of the new series religiously. My favorite moments are when the doctor shows his darker side. Eccleston was only on for a year, so he never got to explore this side of The Doctor. Tennant got to toy around with this aspect a few time. So far Matt Smith hasn't really got to take a stab at this. however  I think that we did get to see a glimpse of this in the episode "The Beast Below." It was only a hint, but it still sticks out in my mind as a key moment. At the End of the episode, when is getting ready to kill the star whale, and Amy is trying to talk to him, That moment, where he becomes angry and lashes out, it wasn't a big moment, not as poignant as tennant's moment during family of blood. But it stills sticks out in my mind. It was more of a glimpse of the darker side of the doctor.

This Is my favorite moment because it makes you curious, and somewhat scared to see the truly dark side of the doctor.

So, what is your favorite moment where the doctor shows his darker side?

I...'sigh'...ok, please understand the following is an opinion.

I fucking HATE HATE HATE this new Master!

I'd even take Amy over that insulting, obnoxious, trainwreak of an abomination that is the New Who's Master. After year of being a calculating, intelligent, manipulative, suave, mad scientist character...they turn him into a Joker knock-off. Annoying, screechy, goofy...like a horrible badly-written parody of the Doctor, scripted by someone that HATES the show and prefers ICP...this new Master is so fucking bad, he ruined EVERY episode he was in JUST BY EXISTING. I can only hope he id either dead or regenerated by now.

I totally agree. Roger Delgado (RIP) defined the Master and now they've just turned him into a bad joke.

They started with Derek Jacoby FOR GODS SAKE! If they had stuck with him, it could have been glorious....

Indeed. ordered The Daemons. so many highlights....inc. one of  the Brig's finest lines.....

That is an excellent Pertwee-era episode. I also recommend Inferno for more Brig love.

ah, Benton goes green haha. rewatching Inferno spurred me onto to get Daemons etc....
