Why did he have to tell us there was going to be a twist? Twists are not shocking when you expect them (even if you don't know what they are)

there is always some sort of twist in any movie. who knew frodo was gonna make it to mordor, who knew dr. manhatten was the bad guy and who knew that old bitch from titanic would tro´how that rock overboard

I wouldn't say the Lord of the Rings had a twist. It would be a twist if they didn't get to Mordor. Even though the other two are genuine, that doesn't mean most movies have twists.
