I just started playing this while I was waiting for work to role around. I like it. I like that you get to choose what you say to people and whatnot....but did I ever hit a learning curve.
For hours it's nothing but wandering around, talking to people, killing the occasional giant roach, ugly rat-thing, or feeble vault guard. Then what happens? Some huge guy with a flamethrower and his bloodthirsty dog!
it is better then i thought it would be, but why is it that Bethesda can't write Dialogue options to save there life.
Even if they slaughtered most of the things i loved about Fallout why OH WHY do the Dialogue options sound like the are written by a 13 year old writing erotic Naruto fanfics.
Still better then i thought, but it is not Fallout.
Any honest CRPG that doesn't use "good and evil" decisions like some kind of crutch and instead writes along the setting?
Fallout was originally about questionable morality, where even the "good" decisions don't always seem that good, and where necessary evils are often a way of life. The Master: Best written villain ever in CRPG gaming, mainly because he believed he was saving what was left of humanity in the only way possible to enable them to live in the current environment.
The characters, the setting, the writing, all of it lacks any semblance of depth in Bethesda's writing. They made a FPS/Dungeon Crawler and propped it up on a limited amount of voice acting as they tend to, and all other considerations of a CRPG's design are secondary. If you want to go by hybrid qualification, Deus Ex's writing stomps this pretentious crap into the ground without effort.
Nearly ANYTHING written in the last 10 years in the CRPG genre is better than the mentally draining garbage of Bethesda's writing.
I do agree with what both of you guys are saying, but I just can not label Fallout 3 as bad because Bethesda, in my eyes, did a much better job than I thought they would.
I am a Fallout fan, and to see that they even occasionally put in a joke from the past completely baffled my Oblivion hating brains.
I know that it is not fair to be so lenient on Bathesda, but what can I say? They did a much better job than I thought they would.
Alright, folks; time once again for me to get off my ass and write a movie review for your reading pleasure. (By the way, I just watched Choke -- it's a really fucked up yet enjoyable movie. I'd give it a 4 out of 5.)
So, Invictus is basically a…
