As far as a Blu-Ray release, I don't know what the point would be since it's original print was never meant for true high-definition being that it's aspect ratio is 1:33 and all.
dont see why not?? if Cannibal Holocaust can make it etc...yes certain elements will be more visible, due to the nature of the source material, but there is a market for classic films.
I'm not saying you it couldn't get a Blu-Ray release (the original Metropolis received one), I just don't see much of the point when it already looks it's best on remastered DVDs. The most they could do is retool the music to be in True HD or Dolby 7.1 or uncompressed.
