Does anyone else think District 9 is overrated

Like they've said in the review, they made it look like a 100mill movie w/ only 30 and it takes a different look of the common Aliens bad Humans good tyoe of movie. It actually depicts us as the villians because of the way we treat them.

That, and the rumor that this is what came out of the failed Halo movie Im sure garnered quite a bit of attention to all the little halo fan boys.

I consider the first act somewhat original but bland. Once the story gets going it's a very good action movie, but I'm really not feeling "it's a masterpiece of science fiction!!!" crowd either.

Wikis (I think that was his name) was the only character with depth, and even then he doesn't really have any defining characteristics to make him memorable. The aliens themselves are certainly not original in any way, but the less is more approach did give them more of a punch.
