I think he was strangely charming in Duece Bigelow : Male Gigolo but I think overall South Park said it the best. All of the rest of his films it seems like he's trying too hard.

That's because with Duece, the overall message was "Be yourself, not what people want you to be". So he worked, I think that it's more of the writers doing a good job with their central point. But if it was handled by someone else, Rob wouldn't have been nearly as tolerable.
I've personally never found him to be funny. And I think it says alot about his career when you're stuck riding Adam Sandler's coattails, though that is in no way a discredit to Sandler himself.

I admit the first time I saw Deuce 2 I was disappointed. Then I rewatched it later on down the road, and found it hilarious. Same like I did with Freddie Got Fingered and Tom Green. Both are works of genius.
I like the whole feud thing Rob had with that critic and Roger Ebert came in there and saved the day, so to speak.
