Well, do ya?

Load your six shooter with favorties and fire them off here.

A few of my favorites, in no particular order:
1. Silverado
2. 3:10 to Yuma (2007) - I need to see the 1957 version.
3.Quigley Down Under
4.The Unforgiven
5.The Man With No Name - (Trilogy - Well sorta a trilogy)
6.The Man from Snowy River (Austrailian, but a western at its heart.)

I haven't seen a lot of westerns, but the one's I have I liked.

3:10 to Yuma (Remake, and parts of the original, which I need to finish)
Sukiyaki Western Django (don't know if this counts)

Really, as long as the film itself is good, the genre isn't what's important for me.

The Magnificent Seven, don't know how I forgot that one. It's a great movie.

I can't say that I've seen six that I can remember, but 3:10 to Yuma kicked ass and that's all I have to say....about that.

There's something about westerns that has always bored me. Unforgiven is the only western I was genuinely interested in while watching.

I watch A Fistful Dollars and thought it dragged, then I watched Yojimbo and loved it. I guess it's just the setting, not the stories themselves.

Yes, I started watching them with my father as a kid (most of them were Sergio Leone's movies), and still I enjoy them.

Not a favorite genre of mine, but here are a few gems (IMHO) to try out.

Quigly Down Under: Yes yes yes, I know. Cheesy-assed title and plot. Standard skilled gunman saves natives from evil rancher. However, the character development was decent and the characters themselves enjoyable. Also rare (except The Rifleman) to see a hero that's focus was basically a sniper, not a pistoleer. Tom Selleck is not normally an actor I think with great chops in the field, but he looked quite natural in his role.

True Grit: Rooster fuckin' Cogburn. Check this little piece of dialogue
Ned Pepper: I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man.
Rooster Cogburn: Fill your hands, you son of a bitch.
The lines in True Grit are most of the fun. They sing like an Aaron Sorkin script. The characters are realistic and fun to watch. No wonder they want to remake this.

Quigley Down Under is one of those movies that comes on TV and you think, "I'll just watch it for a bit then go do what I have to do..." and then you see the credits roll.

I'm not very big into Westerns, but if it has Leone or Eastwood's name on it, I'll watch it. I also recently discovered Lonesome Dove.
