I'm just wondering. Just tell me which ones you like. If you don't like any, that's ok. Just no stupid comments like, "You're gay for liking these bands!". It's my own personal choice.

if you're making the case that the killers are part of a genre that's an even more watered down and commercialized version of an already watered down and commercialized genre, and sound nothing at all like real punk, then case closed.
if you're trying to say that the killers sound or feel anything like "old school 80s punk" then you're a complete dufus.
For real. I see no punk influence. I see progressive and goth-rock influence (my senses detect Joy Division), shoegazing, and post-punk revival, but no real punk like any similarities to Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Sex Pistols or anyone like that. The only bands she listed that might have some punk sound are 3OH!3 and Red, only because I've never heard of them.
If you wanna argue that they dont sound exactly like old school 80s punk than fine. And i'll even agree that the "Post punk revival" is a watered down version of the classic.
I still think the Killers have a punk influence and by reading the article my intention was to prove i am not the only one. I dont really know how to explain why i feel that way i just do. You seem like a big punk fan so i get why you dont like the band. I just miss the stuff like The Ramons & The Sex Pistols and look for anyone who comes even a little bit close to reminding of that.
Just because someone doesn’t share your exact same opinion doesn’t make them an idiot.
Punk music evolved and whether you like it or not bands like The Killers are a product of that evolution.
Look at my post above. I said I like them. I also never said you were an idiot. I'm just saying if there's any punk influence, it's like 1% in comparison to their influence from glam rock, maybe a little new wave, or shoegazing, or goth - Bowie, Joy Division, Morrisey. People on the website below also seem to agree.
