Django Unchained...who's ready for another Tarantino grandiose, bloody tale of revenge?

I am eager to see Jamie Fox and DiCaprio take on their respected roles in this gritty, adventure. What are you looking forward to seeing in this flick?

Looking forward to QT finally taking his head out of his ass, and stop putting scenes in the movie that are there solely to "show off" how much he knows about old cinema. I don't know, maybe taking a true step forward as a director and giving us subtle scenes instead of jackhammering a point about the character. Oh, I know... maybe a good film that makes sense?

Just a few things that I'm looking forward to.

I'll admit Tarantino has a tendency to drag on in a few of his scenes but the dialogue and set up is brilliant and effective. What's so unique about Tarantino is that he actually makes a movie because he has a passion for his work and doesn't do it for the money.

"A tendency"? He does it in virtually every movie. That's the biggest reason that I don't fawn all over his stuff like a lot of people. In the last 10 years or so, he's been pretty much stale as a "creative force". Even if it's a small step outside of your box of comfort, TAKE it.... All the other great directors have done so, even if it was a box-office flop. You need to continue to take those "risks" or else you just become a parody of yourself.

As far as "doesn't do it for the money"? Really? So, all the directing ofTV shows, quest acting shots, slapping his name on other people's movies as "QT presents" and Producer.... All of that is just because he loves making movies? Oh no, it's because he loves making MONEY OFF MOVIES. I mean, if he was really passionate about making movies and not money? Then why was he the producer of Dawn of the Dead 2 and 3 (Direct to video) and yet not involved in any other way... not even a cameo? It's because it's all about the money. Sure, he loves making movies..... movies that are going to make money. You start to see his movies LOOSING money and you'll see how fast he'll turn to do something else to get more money. Like, maybe presenting yet another "Kung-fu" film or some such Asian-made movie that doesn't have a US distribution deal.

Like I said in the beginning of this forum. You either hate Tarantino or love him...he's a producer of movies he wants other audiences to experience. Example: Man with the Iron Fists. The RZA is a good friend of Tarantino and Tarantino happens to love Kung Fu movies therefore he wants to help produce it. Ofcourse he needs to make a living. His movies always do well at the box office but not like James Cameron well. Tarantino has never milked a movie by making an unnecessary sequel like most other directors do to "MAKE MONEY"...How does he not have a creative force??? His movies have the most keen and clever dialogue and aesthetic violent sequences of any other film. He incorporates old school cinema into his movies that makes the audiences appreciate film even more. If he really wanted to make money he could just come up with a lame movie every year but instead it takes him like 3 or 4 years to make one because he really wants the audience and himself satisfied.

i can't wait to see the twists and turns that Tarantino throws at us. also, DiCaprio looks awesome as well!

Tarantino films are always fun. Most of the time I'm interested in the heavy dialogue that he pack into his film. Also it is nice to see a classic spaghetti western type film being done. There are far to few of them these days.

I'm all for vicarious revenge fantasy against white imperialism.

Hopefully he tops the ending to Inglorious Basterds, but that's not going to be easy! I also hope he doesn't have as many scenes that drag on for what feels like 5 hours.
