death note amarican version cast and directer wishlist
ok everyone by now see that wb got the green light for a amarican version of death note heres a wish list of who i want to b a cast and direct it
directer..........JJ abrams
why jj abrams well considering the hit series lost and cloverfield with the upcoming star trek film he has good promise and vision to make it awesome with a side of kick ass
2nd choice.........michael bay
why him and why second choice well the why one word transformers the reason why second choice well i haven't seen alot if not anything else other then transformers.

why him well i think he has more potential them people allow him to be and on top of that he has the look quite down.
any other characters will have to wait till i can figure out what actor/actress fits the part.
soundtrack........... i say stick to the original sound track from the show but i would like to see the songs the red hot chilli peppers did for the japanese ones and maybe staind with creed and 3 days grace and 3 doors down (as much as i am a nickelback fan their music can't seem to fit in other then "savin me" and "if today was your last day" but that's about it.

I didn't know they were doing an American version of Death Note, thats got some potential.
I looved the Death Note anime series but the movie was pants. I've got no idea who would make good for the parts but i'm interested to hear you think Zac Efron as Light, i can't really see him pulling off a crazy phyco role so soon, if at all.
My fav character has to be L, or Ryuk. It would be fun if they made the Simigamis actual people instead of ugly CG things.

well i think he has that potential but he really needs to get out of the High School Musical crap and get to where the real money is. i'd say for zac i'd like to see him more in serious roles and make it believable

The last I heard, Death Note was being looked at for an American adaptation. However, no serious talks have started. The current rumor is that Hollywood is waiting to see if the Cowboy Bebop film will do well first....because the failure of Dragonball Evolution stung most future anime-to-film projects hard.
Another rumor (and please remember these ARE rumors) is that a studio is looking at Death Note as the basis of a film...but not as a direct adaptation. In other words, they want to take the basic idea (a kid that writes the deaths of people in a book, and it happens within 24 hours) and do their own story/version of it without the shimigami or spirits or anyone Japanese in it.
Personally, I can see the second rumor happening before we get a Death Note movie.

second rumor everyone would tell it's a death note rip off and not bother first one makes more sense and i didn't know there is gonna be a cowboy bebop movie. yet i'm still waiting for a good yugioh movie. but ghost in a shell has promise

First of all im going to start out by saying Are You On Drugs and in that case which one, because seeing mr big smile disney child efron who could even give Robert Pattinson a run for the money as Yagami light is ridiculous. So far i have heard zach efron being tossed around for either light or L and If the hollywood studios made this they would probably cast him and turn the story around just to make som easy money as they always do.
Seeing how movie studios have taken properties such as games and turned them into money by using the fans and their faith in a good movie adaptation, and recently the dragonball movie which was so bad it can't even be written in words how bad it was it is clear that if Hollywood makes a Death Note movie it will be made of the sake of money.

i don't blame u there with studios wanting easy money i never saw the dragonball movie and i never want to. but with new or semi new actors and actresses i look and see who has potential and who doesn't. and i think zac effron has those talents and skills to be light BUT i'd rather see him in more serious roles before i decide if it's good or not to cast him as light

I can't tell if you're trolling or serious. This sounds too much like you just threw together your favorite things regardless of weather they're a good match for Death Note or not.
After saying something like "why second choice well i haven't seen alot if not anything else other then transformers" which I assume translates to "i have not seen anything else by Bay besides Transformers" (then why did you choose him at all?) or worse, that you have not seen any other MOVIES besides Transformers, it's hard for me to take any of this seriously. However, your choice of Zac Efron made "hard" to "impossible".
Michael Bay? The only people who actually liked Transformers 2 are young teen boys who are easily impressed by explosions and manchild Transformer/Megan Fox fanboys. And if you mean the first Transformers movie, that movie relied on the action and special effects for its success. Death Note relies on neither of those, except for maybe CGI for Ryuk, which would be a whole different challenge than metallic robots. It's appeal is the intelligent characters and the story, Transformers has neither of these. How much though did you even put into this?
Why of all people did you chose Zac Efron? "he has the look quite down" It's the hair, isn't it? I honestly though that rumour about them in talks of casting Efron was a joke made up by someone to troll Death Note fans.
Just how many actors did you consider before picking Zac Efron? How many actors do you even know? Did you just look at the popular teen favourites featured in celebrity news and picked the one with brown hair & a floppy fringe? (Justin Beiber anyone?) Not to discredit his dancing and musical performance ability, but your reason of "i think he has more potential them people allow him to be" is terrible. Just because he's possibly better than what people perceive him to be is not a decent reason to think he's a good choice to play a complex and maniacal character like Light, which would require A LOT more than possibly-being-better-than-a-plastic-Disney-star.
The Japanese live action movies were awful. The only thing I liked about it was L. Any reference or tribute to it should be kept at minimum. The red Hot Chili Peppers song was irrelevant to begin with. And I doubt the anime soundtrack is going to cut it for a movie, standards are just higher. Also depending on what direction the movie's taking, the music should be adapted to suit it.

Well if Zac Effron was actually cast as Light and did a great job portraying him people could probably take him more seriously as a actor. I think he could do it, besides he needs a different role from what he's doing now. But they definitely need to take their time and write a good script.

as i said if they were to cast him as light i really wanna see him in more serious roles as an actor before i think it's good or bad choice. i think he has potential to be a great actor i really do but the roles he's been given (i want to see charlie saint cloud for this reason) have really not been good roles but as i said in all honesty i think he has great potential he just needs the right roles
