The new DC universe is almost here with Flashpoint #5 being the endpoint and Justice League #1 beginning it on the insane midnight release at the end of the month.  I think generally the reaction the the whole reboot aspect of it has been "meh" but when I look at the titles coming up I'm very much in favor of this.  I'm going from getting three titles to checking out nearly half the new ones.  It was also just announced Justice Society is going to have a title by James Robinson on Earth-2 which is awesome IMO since the biggest downside to the DCnu so far among fans that I've seen has been the lack of JSA.

So is anyone else excited?  Anyone got strong feelings against it?  Any particular titles people can't wait for?

Justice League with Geoff Johns and Jim Lee is easily going to be the top selling comic of the year.  Anyone on here going to get it besides me?  I read a spoiler about who the villain is going to be and am now way more excited for it.

The books I'm most excited for are Snyder's Swamp Thing, All-Star Western, Justice League Dark, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Batman, Demon Knights and Stormwatch.

I'm going to try all of the first issues. I'm happy they're doing this.

Can't wait for Swamp Thing.  Snyder is amazing.

I never really read many, if any, comics besides a few graphics novels (Watchmen, 300, KickAss) though I had always been a fan of superheroes, though most of that interest came from watching film and television adaptations. However, the recent Marvel films (mainly Thor and Captain America) has causes me to pick up and get into comic books so as someone who is really new to the medium I'm very excited about this. One of the hardest things about coming into the game so late as I did is that there have already been so much written, so many stories told, that it can be difficult to know where to start or get into stories that are already so deep. This gives people like myself the chance to start at the beginning, though I will most definitely go back and read many previously released comics as possible, depending on the praise/characters. I can certainly understand how this change will and has upset a lot of fans, it would be like following a great TV series that decides halfway through to reboot itself with new actors and plot just to attract those that haven't followed it, but it is happening no matter the fuss created.

As for those that I plan to pick up, there are quite a few. I picked up Justice League #1 already. I will also be getting practically anything Batman related (Detective Comics, Batwing, Batwoman, Batman, Nightwing, Batman: The Dark Knight), Superman/Action Comics, Swamp Thing, Resurrection Man, DC Universe Presents (at least for the Deadman issues), Blue Beetle, Aquaman, Voodoo, Green Lantern and Suicide Squad.

Any suggestions on any of the others 52 would be appreciated.

Frankenstein.

FRANKENSTEIN.

Side note, Justice League was really really good, and the last page was just perfect.

I'll be sure to pick up Frankenstein when it is released, luckily New England Comics has a buy 4 get 1 free in Sept. for the new 52 so I will pick up ones I'm not to sure about as that 1 free.

I liked Justice League #1, always nice to see those early interactions and tensions between these characters, especially Batman. Funny that I read a bit of early hate for it by a select few, I just don't see how anyone could be so angry about where the story is going after only 1 issue. Seems to just be from those still angry about the whole relaunch.

I myself was a little skeptical about this whole New 52 reboot procedure. So I was wondering if you could go into a little detail on the issue and describe what they're going for this time around. For example is it a throwback to the earlier JLA or are they going off in a completely new direction etc? It would be much appreciated!

can't wait for justice league dark.

I don't know who most of the members are, but I'm interested because of Deadman.

wait...what...CONSTANTINE IS IN THIS?!? WHAT THE BLUE FUCK!

And what the heel did they do to SHADE!

Fuck you DC...no wait...DC, I WANT YOU TO BURN IN HELL!!

I liked Justice League a lot.  Seems like Superman's going to be a badass though I'm not a huge fan of the costume change.

It would be cool IMO if the armor is to hold his power back and he removes it when he has to go all out and underneath is just the red trunks.  It would be the definition of fan service.

I was watching Fresh Ink on G4 and one of the hosts mentioned that there is a reasoning behind the armor, he couldn't say why, but I guess we'll get an explanation eventually.
