Looking through Guy(86) regular edition of Weekenders, I thought I'd get everyone's response to this film. I, along with everyone in America, especially right now, have a great fondness for vampires. This movie looks cooler than shit, but the Spierigs? "Undead" was a film I REALLY tried to get into but ended up thinking it was a turd. What do you guys think about this one?
I'm really on the fence; the trailer looks amazing but are these guys going to be able to carry a film that looks pretty epic? It's got a killer cast, looks like it has pretty high production value, so its either has a decent budget or these guys are the real deal when it comes to directing. Even "Undead" looked pretty good considering their budget restrains; it was the story that sucked a fat one. Does anyone feel the same as I do that "Daybreakers" might be a victim of this as well?
Agreed. Vampires are far too overplayed, far too heavily used. True Blood, That piece of steaming shit Twilight, Underworld, and roughly TWELVE TV shows and movies coming out in the next few years ago vampires.
The chances that this can pull off what the trailer is showing, is so slim. The implications are just so large, and sweeping, that it's hard to believe that it can possibly make a decent go of it.
Despite this, hot damn, if this doesn't look like the coolest vampire movie idea since the trashing of I Am Legend, for the 3rd(4th?) time.
