How open and welcoming are we, the forum users, to new comers?

Is the low bullshit tolerance level that flows through the threads a bad thing?

What was your first posting experience like?

Why do you stick around?

Personally I did a fair bit of lurking. Testing the water to see how the place worked, then began posting. Most users are fair, some harsh, but fair.

The reason I ask is a new member just sent me a friend request telling me to 'fuck off' and that he would make sure I never get to see any of his posts again in the future. Seems like a nice guy.

The way I see it, the community is harsh, but fair.

Learn the proper etiquette of this site, and you will suffer no problems.

Just what is the proper etiquette of this site?

From what I've seen thus far, don't be Dominick or Maverick. If one can do this, they stand a fighting chance of surviving here.

I thought it was more like 'be polite, be professional; but have a plan to kill everybody you meet'.

I always leave the first part out. Too complicated.

You can't hug a limbless corpse, Chi-...wait...damn it...

Yeah, I usually reserve that first part for when I'm with kids or old people.

I have to agree with Mike Denney. We're the internet equivalent of MS-13, 'running down' the 'noobs' and 'raping their mouths' with our 'giant Mexican cocks'.

Aren't MS-13s Nicaraguan or Costa Rican, not Mexican?

Racist.

...How dare you?

As a Costa Rican/Mexican/Nicaraguan/MS-13 Member, I'm greatly offended by this.

If you're talking about Mike Denney getting butt-hurt, um, it's his problem. He doesn't understand forum etiquette, and when it was explained to him civilly (through constructive criticism, mind you), he got all butt-hurt about it simply because he was called out.

The way I see it, the community here in the forums is a stalwart group of Robin Hood's merry men that stands as the last line of defense against the encroaching stupidity. Without us, yeah, there might be more people within the forums, but there'd be so much stupidity that one would wonder, "what's the point?"

I think he is autistic.
