Here's my "cockblocked" story. It's long so if you don't care just write your story in the comments.
My roommate last year was a friend of mine from undergrad. He was very 'metrosexual.'
One day he begged me to go to this club with him because he didn't want to drive there alone. I didn't really want to, I was in a bad mood because he lost this nice zippo I bought earlier than week in vegas but he has this friend that he swore was interested in me at given this prospect I finally decided to go.
A little back history: you have no idea how many favors I had done for this guy. I've never seen or met anyone so helpless and inconsiderate in my life. Not a very good combination. Also, I'm a white guy, and he's Taiwanese.
So when we finally got to the club I found out it's a Korean club. I'm like "dude wtf?" he doesn't understand why I'd be annoyed. "Bro, I'm not Korean either." As though they would be able to tell. First of all the girl he told me would be there was. And so was her boyfriend. Fuck.
The whole night, as one might expect I am stared at and looked down upon. In the bathroom I swear to God one guy started laughing and said OH SHIT WE GOT SOME ROUND EYE UP IN THIS BITCH. I can laugh at myself, I have lived in Asia before, and been the minority but when someone isn't your friend, they really shouldn't just make fun of you.
I couldn't even really start a fight with anyone, I'd have gotten my ass handed to me by about 70 Koreans. So what did I do? Well I tried out dancing with some bitches one after another instantly being blocked from me by guys they were with. After this happened about 5 times I got kind of discouraged. I took noticed that girls were outnumbered by guys by about 5:1. That's 5 guys for every girl.
So I played wall flower for about 15 minutes, until my friend finally game over to me and was like "Bro what's up? How come you aren't havin' fun?" I tell him, because the club sucks ass. He doesn't understand. He comes back a few minutes later in a strangely generous mood and says to me alright man, if you aren't having fun then we don't gotta stay, let's go. I was amazed and didn't question it. Since I'd missed the last train anyway, he was my only ride home.
On the way out of the club, I had to squeeze past the hottest girl I had seen that whole night. she thought I was trying to dance with her I guess, and to my amazement no guy came to push me away. So I continued. She had a cute friend too. She asked me to go outside for a cigarette. I couldn't help but think that zippo would have come in pretty handy at that moment.
When we got outside my friend was waiting for me. Of course of all people she asks him for a light. I heard her say something to her friend in Japanese, and not just Japanese. It was Kansai Japanese, which is the dialect that I happen to know.
My friend insists that telling girls you speak that language frightens them off, but I tried it and she was eating it up. I thought it was so awesome that she had a friend too for my roommate. But for some reason he wouldn't take a hint and go for the friend. I know it was kind of a sudden thing to spring the wing man position on him but we didn't have time to make an elaborate gameplan, and at that point it wasn't even a matter of not being a good wing man, it became a matter of both of us hitting on the same girl.
One problem was that she was really drunk, and her friend wasn't. I don't say that because drunk girl's are easy- I mention it because a sober friend is overprotective of a drunk one. In the end her friend got tired of standing there quietly and watching us prey on this girl. She told me she was on facebook and what school she went to but I forgot. Somehow I was too stupid to ask for her last name, and then when I said the word "phone number" she asked her friend "what'd he say?" and she replied "nothing." They left abruptly. Honestly I wouldn't have done anything that night, but I think if I called her back and met up with her I would have have a decent shot.
We decided we no longer had any reason to stay either, and started walking back toward the car. To our surprise they were across the street. I called her name. She waved, by this point her friend thought we were stalking them and starting running. I never found her.
My friend has never forgiven me for cock-blocking him. I am still in shock at how one could have possibly spun things around so much...
He said I ruined his night by making him leave the club and then cockblocking him and he regretted even bringing me. We are not roommates anymore.
