I want everyone to post about any movie that has came out in the past 5 years that is considered a classic.  Let's explore that word "classic".  A classic is a timeless movie that has recognition with anybody of any age, that can't be explained other than it has a charm that can never be matched.  Here's my list of some classic movies in my opinion.  It seems like the charm of movies from the 80's have disapeared seeing as if you name any movie this year as a class you'd be ridiculed.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Back to the future

Star Wars (episodes 4-6, original version)

Indiana Jones series

Godfather

Scarface

Ghostbusters

The Breakfast Club

One who flew over the cuckoo's nest

The Goonies

So everybody make your lists of Movies in the past 5 years or so that you think are movies that will be passed down to generations.

Avatar
Zombieland
Ironman

That's all I've got unfortunately
none of them
why not?
avatar will be forgotten soon enough, zombieland was funny and i love it, but not a classic, and iron man is just another superhero movie that just won't be a classic
No I really don't think so. it's really easy to write movies off nowadays but If anything avatar will remain. cgi will come up, 3d will come up, imax will come up, and those conversations will come up so I really doubt it'll be forgotten anytime soon. And I don't think its fair to write off Ironman, superman is a classic superhero movie and it wasn't nearly as good. I forgot Dark Knight also
I think Avatar will be this generations 2001:Space Oddessy.
I don't know, maybe. Idts because all avatar has going for it is effects and space oddessy had a lot more than that
HA!
The only thing they have is common is that they're both very long and they both take place in space.
lol he's not really comparing them tho
avatar is not a classic. what makes it a classic? the bad acting? the ripoff writing? if you think the visual effects are enough to make it a classic, then look at TRON, no prize there. If you think the writing, GUESS AGAIN. it is ripping off dances with wolves, which is hardly a classic-though a decent movie. the dialogue is horrible. now District 9, original, realistic to an extent, repeatedly named as the next great sci-fi movie, THAT'S A CLASSIC. with 310 million dollars, a "director" could make a terrible movie but put so much in to advertising that it could be the highest grossing movie of all time-example The Blair Witch Project (which incidently was more profitable, and in my opinion better than avatar)

I think against the hype no it's not a classic, but just as a movie the dialogue's not bad it's just nothing special. but the special effects, and the fact that this made 3d popular makes it an important part of cinema

I respectfuly disagree with some of ur list because, I know a whole lot of ppl who haven't even seen some of those movies. Even me personaly being a movie lover. Espicaly not scott pilgrim it''s to alienated although I agree it defines a cult classic
