The bigger picture being that fundamentalist Christians like to ignore those passages at their convenience.
The same way they like to ignore facts, and science, and reality in general.

That's what I thought.

I am a Christian.
I'm just not a fundamentalist Christian that shoves his beliefs down everyone's throats.

I'm not a Creationist Christian who takes every passage of the Bible literally when it helps my argument and then scoffs them off as parable and metaphor when they don't.

I don't make hilarious, face-palm worthy forums that implore others to ignore the "false teachings" (aka, scientific facts) of the world at large, while at the same time hypocritically enjoying the fruits of science and medicine's technological advances.

I'm not some ridiculous apologist who begs others to find their way to the light before it's too late, in a weak attempt to make myself feel more secure in my shallow beliefs.

I'm the kind of Christian who wants to find the truth and origin to everything told me to, because I refuse to believe something simply because I'm told to.

I refuse to ignore history and the machinations of man to twist Christ's messages of understanding and acceptance.

I refuse to wallow in the same kind ignorance that kept the progress of humanity at a standstill for over a thousand years during the Dark Ages.

I refuse to apologize for disagreeing with a group of people who force their dogma on others and then play martyr when they're told to shut their fucking heads.

Ok chig... give me a detailed description on what you believe. And how you came to that belief, and the evidence supporting your belief. Christian is a very loose term in todays age. Do you believe that Christ died for your sins and that is the only way to be made clean. In other words do you realize you are nothing and must humble yourself before God?

I was trying to say you keep speaking of human error. Christians are human and will make the same mistake as humans. I haven't always spoken to peole out of love even when debating the word.

I am not righteous. I've admitted my faults. I make tons of mistakes. I have pride issues, jealousy, sexual immorality, etc. I will be the first to admit these. Luckily that is where the power of christ comes in. He washes my sins clean leaving me righteous. I am only Righteous through christ. Now Having said all that.

What is it you believe. I ask with an open and loving heart.
