What do you mean where is Ridley Scott? That is like reading a menu to order some food and when the waiter comes up to ask you want you want, you ask him about that is not on the freaking menu! You have to choose from it...

Scott has a different notion about si-fi i think. his idea about science fiction is very much different from Spielberg or Cameron. but i agree he should be there Prometheus will be a deciding movie this year

I am not saying that James Cameron is the best from the list, but he is my favourite. I think Steven Spielberg is more appreciated because he has made a lot of films that had more influence.

Note:Puting Roland Emmerich there is like making me choose from a list of footballers where the names of Pele, Maradona, Eusebio and Kanoute. The last is not the worst footballer, but compared to the other 3...MAN! Sorry for the weird comparison. I am a major soccer fan.

Well what can I say about Lucas? He did Star Wars which was a great movie, from both a point a view of directing and writing which he both did. Another movie for which he got praised was American Graffiti, but I haven't seen that film. But he did not direct that many movies, actually only 6, and 3 of them were the prequel trilogy which I am not a big fan of...

I'd have to go with James Cameron.

His original screenplays were actual science fiction, whereas the others were more "adventure" type film-makers with sci-fi settings.  Speilberg had some good ones, too, though, I'd put him second out of the four.

Cameron....though I didn't care for Avatar that much Terminator and Aliens are centerfold pieces of how Sci-Fi horror should be done.
