I have nothing against it. Anything that's not a cheat is valid and if you disagree you're wrong.

There are some games I just refuse to play because of camping though. It's fair, but it's also incredibly annoying. Day of Defeat, for example, is the definition of camping. Ninety percent of your deaths come from some asshole in the dark corner of a dark room three miles away; it's not very fun to say the least.

That's actually a pet peeve of mine in games. Apparently, all of the level designers think that unless the sunlight is shining directly on an area, it needs to be pitch fucking black. This a lie!

Hell, I'm one of the RARE players that actually LIKES campers because it shows one of two things.

1) They understand that they are SUPPOSED to defend something. Like a flag or a bombpoint, or even a doorway/hallway. Their jobs are to PREVENT the enemy from getting through, so do NOT move and kill anyone that comes into your killzone.

2) They understand how they are SUPPOSED to play their "Class". One thing I hate MORE than anything else about online Sooters, is being a SNIPER and people bitching about how I'm "Camping". BULLSHIT. Snipers don't go charging into rooms trying to mow down 20 or 30 guys in 50yrds. Snipers are DESIGNED by doctrine to sit back and shoot targets that are AVAILABLE to them, or get in ONE SPOT and try to stay there. There's NOTHING wrong with snipers "Camping" because it's what the "class" is historically KNOWN to do.

Yeah either way I try to root them out. I hate people complaing when no obvious camping is going on. when people spawn camp its wrong though. I pop in I die and you pretty much have to wait till the game moves your spawn.

I take camping accusations with a grain of salt. Mostly it's the person complaining about dying the same way over and over again. You'd think they'd learn that running into that area like that will get them killed after the third time.

You can play hide and seek all you want.I play to kick ass all day long! You can get your camp kill if you can? You best move when i respawn.It makes it all the more fun.For damn sure a camper wont score more kills over me!Other than that,campers do what they do.Just deal with it and move on!
As for all you campers...{PUSSIES}...
If your on my team though,{Keep that cover fire coming}! lol

Theres a difference between camping and defending and camping can come from idiots even in the "defend this" type games.
I dont know how many times ive played sabotage in cod 4 and my entire team is ignoring our target, nobody is even trying to get the bomb, and only want kills and will sit in some dumb little corner to get em.
Its probably 50/50 chance that your team is gonna actually try the objective or your team is gonna sit back and laugh while you have 0 backup or defense while trying to plant the bomb.
My point being a sniper can be killed fairly easy because (if its a well designed game anyway) the sniper has to be exposed a little or at least be somewhere where he can be shot as well. I feel like the whole point of a annoying camper is that he finds some little exploitative spot where only his head is peeking out and theres no way of hitting him other than throwing loads of bullets at him and hoping you tag him before he tags you.
I dont think the issue is snipers its the guys with any mid to close range weapon that go into the middle of the map and find that gay corner, thats camping.

I don't like playing FPS with out objectives, and if too many people are camping, teams tend to lose, yet no one watching the objective, means you lose as well. I don't know how many times, I smirk at a team in CoD that's devoted to camping, or yell at my own team to stop, and move on the objective. Besides, I'd have no knife kills, if I didn't take such pleasure in humiliating campers with scopes.
It's part of the game, and about the only time I have a problem with it, are the spawn campers, but even then, on some of those War games in CoD, you have no choice, the last objective is right next to the spawn, so suck it.

Yeah, I've been told I camp a lot. I try my best to play smart, and if the situation calls for camping, then I'll camp until I realize "Okay, they are on to me, I better move". If not, I'll just attempt to flush their sniper/campers. The rules of the game don't tell me I HAVE to move from the spot if I stay on it for more than 3 minutes.

Yes, it does depend on what you're playin'.Some games it's considered a 'legitimate strategy', and other games it's considered a 'hack move'.

But in the end, those who despise campers should learn how to handle them.
