Should people be able to fart in public? Should humans be able to walk on two feet in public? Should bird fly in public?

Seriously, it's a natural function for a baby to obtain food. Unless you are advocating starving babies in public, then you shouldn't have an issue with breast feeding. The only 2 people that have an issue with it are the A) People too puritan in their views that get offended by the slightest thing, or B) People too immature to even be allowed out in public to begin with.

I agree, breast feeding is a natural thing. I was in Wal-Mart the other day and was in electronics and saw a woman standing in a corner, facing the wall, breast feeding her baby. One of the employees came up to her and told her she couldn't do that there and had to leave.
Also I recently saw the episode of Penn and Tellers Bullshit where they talk about breast feeding.

Most women who feed in public places tend to have a nursing blanket and are very descrete. My sister hates nursing in public but there's usually no where to accomidate privacy other than a public washroom... I think I'd rather piss off a couple uptight a-holes with the possible glimpse of a milking breast than try to nurse a baby in a nasty bathroom stall while listening to other people deficate.

Yeah, it's not like they're lifting their shirt all the way up or taking it off to feed their baby. Most do have a blanket, including the woman in Wal-Mart who got kicked out...and she was facing a wall to not draw any real attention. What a bunch of B.S.
